People during raid

Hi,

is there a way to see if there's somebody wainting to start a raid? It would be useful for "lone riders" like me to see if there's already somebody waiting to start the raid...

All you can do is see if people are in the lobby; there will be a number next to the pass button indicating the number, and will only count those in a public lobby.

Apart from that, no way of really telling who may be loitering aside from checking social media or asking people in person.

OK, so the number next to the pass button indicates people waining to start a raid... Nice to know... Considering that I work in a pokemon gym it will be quite easy to see if there are people raiding or not, and join...

Be careful, though, as you may be considered as a spoofer. If people systematically see you in the lobby but not for real, they may quit the lobby and start a private session to exclude you. It is therefore nicer to go out of your office and say hello to the people starting a raid.

Of course, this all depends on the local poke-culture in your city. E.g. if you work in a big city where people don't talk to each other and players participate to raids without socializing a minimum, they will probably not care about spoofers and you can freely invite yourself in a lobby...

Jeez, some people must be dense to just assume it's a spoofer when they don't immediately see another player right in front of them 😑

You should see Bucharest. I've been accused of being a spoofer simply for taking gyms anywhere between 18:00 and 21:30 or so (they said so), because none of their group members were present there and most of them only go outside during the day. But they didn't even bother to contact me while they had me in their group since last August to ask me about when I'm active.

if you are in a business with people around, not a big deal. but if a group I am with is standing in an open area and not seeing someone... yeah, we start private groups.

Only if they're in the lobby, waiting for the raid to start, with a timer counting down. Otherwise nope.

That's why Discord and other social media type services are crucial.
