How did someone behind me in a gym get kicked out?
so i took over a gym and put down a pokemon. another person couple minutes after put another (a Snorlax). several hours later i checked on the gym and the Snorlax is gone, is Niantic banning people? how did this happen?

There is a possiblity of this happening as follows:
1. Attacker hits your pokemon and the Snorlax twice, a teammate (your team) golden berries the first (your) defender but does not golden berry the snorlax. Then the attacker proceeds to knock out the snorlax.
2. Your pokemon decays slower than the Snorlax and therefore after a few hours your pokemon is still at near full health while the Snorlax only takes 2 or 1 round to knock out.
If your gym is still intact (by the sound of it it does), it is most like some variation of a shave or a decay problem. I can't think another explanation otherwise.
