Tyranitar Duo Question

I want to try a Tyranitar duo with a friend soon.
I have build the following team now:
lvl 40 100% Machamp C/DP
lvl 30 89% Machamp KC/DP
lvl 30 80% Machamp C/CC
lvl 35 98% Hariyama C/DP
lvl 35 93% Hariyama C/DP
lvl 33 100% Hariyama C/DP

My friend has only 1 powered up Machamp and is missing candy so he tries to get 5 weather boosted makuhitas in the thirties and evolve them. Thats how i got my Hariyamas too, invested 0 dust in them :)

So my question is: Is it possible to duo Tyranitar with the above team and a second team of 1 Machamp and 5 Hariyamas?

Depends on moveset. Iron tail/fire blast is definitely marginal at best. Bite Crunch/stone edge should be easy.

Definitely, I have a decent fighters team and struggled to duo tyranitar during cloudy weather with other player who have only couple, it took us several tries

Your Machamp with CC will die before getting off a charge move against FB. DP is essential. TM it and power up your second Machamp a bit further to assure you get off 3 DP. The energy gain of surviving a FB gives you basically two instant DP.

If he'll put it first, there is also a good chance to release two, and one is almost guaranteed (if his buddy will not use charge before full bar)

I think it might be tough. I have duo a tyranitar with another lvl40 player. We both brought 6 100%iv lvl40 machamps and managed to down it with a few seconds left. You could try pumping your non-lvl40 to at least lvl37.5 to stand a good chance and also swap out another hariyama with machamp (hariyama has alot more HP but its attack stat is not as strong as machamp). Good luck and let us know how it goes if you indeed decide to try. Have a third person standby and if the duo does not work out, at least you can invite a third player to join in the battle
