Draco meteor vs outrage

So in because of community day we will be able to obtain a dragonite with draco meteor, is this move superior or inferior to outrage in terms of dps (don't care about dodging).

Outrage is a 2 bar move with 110 dmg each
Draco meteor is a single bar move with 150 dmg
2x110 > 150

So not only does outrage do more dmg for less energy then Draco meteor but better energy management.

The only point Draco meteor has over Outrage is the animation.

But to be fair most 1 bar moves need desperately a BOOST or the 2 bars need nerfs

Don't forget the animation, cool down, and practically in battle as well.

Icy Wind is with 3 bars, 70 power each.
Blizzard only has 1 bar, 130 power.
70*3 > 130

So not only does Icy Wind do more damage for less energy than Blizzard, but also better energy management.

The only point Blizzard has over Icy Wind is the faster damage window.

But, in the simulations and reality, Blizzard is strictly superior to Icy Wind.

According to Pokebattler sims it's worse than DT/O, DB/O and DT/DC, in that order.

So worse in theory and also in practice because it's a 1 bar move with an even later damage window than Outrage. (2.5 vs 3)

Draco Meteor is worse, there's a fairly in-depth analysis here: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/7ycmo0/draco_meteor_vs_outrage_using_comprehensive_dps/

So DM is better if your fights always end shortly after firing it. In reality that's not most fights so Outrage ends up being better most of the time.

Draco Meteor is significantly inferior, as stated above. If you have more than a few Dragons (Dragonite or Rayquaza) with DT/O, go ahead and evolve one for novelty, but I wouldn't stock up on them.

Draco meteor does similar amount of damage and has the same speed, while having the animation. One bar moves are a joke and makes this game look like a pierro fest.

Its another legacy we gonna keep. But maybe after a rework on numbers or battle system,it will be better. Who knows...

As everyone else says Outrage is better most of time.

There is one other factor. The autoselector does not like 2 bar moves. It always picks higher powered 1 bar moves.

While autoselector is NOT ideal, there are times when you are going in with autoselects. ((Little time on lobby for late arrival, multiaccounter, or a B team),

In those cases, having Dracometer might get a dragonite picked over say Vileplume while having Outrage doesnt.

Still mostly a novelty movepool, though I want one

But it is something worth thinking about

The general conclusion is that it's inferior to Outrage most of the time. That said you can also TM to Outrage later, so getting DM on Community Day and holding onto it in the event of a move rebalance is what I'm planning on doing for my two best Dratini.

They are close, but Outrage is usually superior. However, in some cases like fainting right after Draco Meteor hits, Draco Meteor is superior.
