Niantic will make no money on the titans!
When these become the new legendaries, i predict few will do them. Because they'll have no value in the meta. People will use their free passes on them and that's it. No money to Niantic.
Could this potentially kill the game? Is gen 3 the end of the road?

Why? Nostalgia?
I really don't have much interest in them; their use is limited, they are expensive to power up and I don't like their designs.
I would still do every Raid I can, but since most players in my local group don't even knew the Pokemon of Gen 3 before PoGo, I don't think they'll catch a lot more than 1 once they figure out they are not that good + we would need a lot of people for each Raid because of their high defenses, which would be an additional pain, because my community here is not too big and is also not very motivated atm because it's winter here
Not nostalgia. I'm a bit too old to have been into Pokemon back in the day and remember it just as a thing my girlfriends' younger brothers were in to.
I like the look of the Regies and also that they are Legendaries with novel typing. I know that a lot of players, especially on these boards, just like to find the best possible pokemon of a given type and power up 6 of them for raids. I like more variation. Regirock can break up my Golem and Tyranitar crews for Rock. Regice will be a nice addition to Lapras and Walrein (I don't have Articuno). I'm not even sure what Steel does, but the game loves to recommend to me Steelix and Skarmory, so I apparently need more of it.
I really hope Niantic doesn't rotate the 3 Regis like they did with the beasts and have each one stick around for a whole month. Registeel in particular is going to be a hard sell with it's 2200ish max CP at lvl 40. I can't imagine ever using it due to it's abysmal base stats, and since it's legendary it can't be thrown into gyms.
