A legendary mutant cat that is EXclusive to EX raids and requires an EX invite, which we would EXpect to get if we raid park or sponsored gyms.
But it's EXtremely EXcruciating when players get EXcluded from EX raids despite raiding at EX gyms EXtremely frequently.

If Gulpin ever becomes a raid boss, you can shut him up with your Groudon. For now you can always use him for Aggron raids

EQ Groudon is a viable counter to both Registeel and Regirock. Not the best, but ranks #5 time to win against rock and #12 against steel and has very good TDO against both.

Do future generations have Electric-type legendaries or Electric-types that would make great gym defenders?

Gen 5 has Zekrom which will likely be a high priority legendary raid and for which Groudon will undoubtedly be one of the top counters for. Gen 4 has Magnezone which is basically a great defender against everything except ground, which it has a double weakness to.

Well, if we go by future legendarys, Groudon is probably THE best attacker against Heatran, does good against Dialga, handles Zekrom, can deal quite some damage to Terrakion, Cobalion and Reshiram, will make Diancie and Magearna cry and gives Solgaleo a hard time aswell. Nihilego (not legendary, I know) will shiver in fear aswell, just like Stakataka and Blacephalon
