yup. i lost a really great onix nest without getting a good IV onix.

nests are more quantity over quality.

your best bet in good iv is hatching anyways

But with the increase in the quantity, the probability of encountering a good iv one also increases.

I don't really believe this. With my empirical living on pokemon, I'd assume that pokemon IV tends to be worse when found on their nests and better when found anywhere else. At least thats what it seems to be. I got a Growlithe nest at my house before the last migration. Got 100+ Growlithe, none of them got the best appraisal or even the second best one. The same thing about a Horsea nest on a park near home and on a Seel nest near my work place. I captured lots of them, and not a single one came with the best appraisal. Instead, I just captured a random Growlithe far away from any Growlithe nest, and it came with 93% IV. It would be cool if Silph Road did a research about this.

I dont belive that your theory is true. After two weeks of grinding i have managed to catch planty bulbasaurs with ivs above 80%. I evolved 2 of them with 89 and 91 iv. Maybe you have bad luck.

Jackchan0 isn't wrong, this was just a bug for a while. Specifically, there was a bug in the game's code that caused nest Pokémon to have lower IVs. It's been fixed, though, so we can look forward to getting better quality 'mon from nests now.

Just yesterday I caught and 89% and >93% Slowpoke out of 5 from a nest, and an 82% Poliwag out of 3 from a nest

You can get good IV in the wild but it's a low chance to you have to catch a huge volume to get them. My only perfect mon (Growlithe) was wild but the vast majority of 90%+ mons were hatched. In general I think of hatching to get good IVs and catch the wild ones for candy, but there are exceptions.

Yes. My nearby Abra nest is gone :(. It now looks like another Magmar nest. And another nest by my house is now full of Little turds, aka Digletts.

Didn't find any tonight, but apparently I've got Pinsir to replace Scyther - not a great swap.

My area now becomes a Shellder nest; I caught the first yesterday and evolved one with FB/IW.
