iv's for pvp
I keep reading here and there that even tho iv's don't matter that much currently in the game they will become much more important when pvp comes out and I don't understand why ?
Is the logic simply that we all max out the same mons, t-tar, d-nite, M2, raikou, kyogre, groudon etc.... basically all the top tier attackers so what is going to make the difference between 2 players of equal level and roughly the same team composition is going to be iv's. To me this logic implies that if pvp comes out the game will still be tap and swipe. I can't possibly imagine this. Tap and swipe pvp would be very boring, no skill required and the winner would always be predictable it would always be the one with better iv's (assuming both players have the same mons at the same levels)
If you believe that then who would even want pvp ? Winners would always be the players using scanners to get 100iv's and legit players wouldn't stand a chance.

I really don't know how they are ever going to do PVP.
My attack has to go to the server, register there, go to your phone, register and give you a chance to dodge, decide damage and send that back to me. Throw lag into mix... ick.
And even human reaction time, you not going to be able to dodge in PVP. Not really. The only reason you can dodge in PVE is because Defenders have the global cooldown of 1.5-2.5 seconds. You aren't going to be able to dodge attacks coming every .5 second.
The only way I can see PVP is really to make it Computer Simulations where you are really just watching a video of combat.
And if its team vs team, the only imput you have ever is to swap out.
I used to play Counter Strike (the original mod, in beta, before Valve bought it) on a dial up connection on a PC that has less processing power and RAM than your phone does.
They could do MMO real time interactive fights with far less resources a very long time ago. If they can't do it with the resources available now, then there is something seriously wrong.
All that said, it could just be that you battle another players line up, but you battle the computer AI using their team - just as you do a gym...but you can do it at home. Many games do it this way.
