Anyone else started hating pikachu?
I've just had it with pikachu. This mon used to be one of my favorites back during the GBA days. But duee to fucking niantic being a gold digger i've starting loathing pikachu.
firstly since its the only mon in POGO to have the anime voice. And now with the update all centred around pikachu.
i get it that its the face of pokemon and evrything but niantic is rather focused on getting more players for a short while than satisfying those who are in for the long run.

They are everywhere here. Last nest migration I had a Pikachu nest on my block. Got so sick of catching them. I have about 500 candies and evolved 4-5 80%IV+ into Riachu.
I, like the creator of this thread, am sick of them lol. Yeah I know it is different for every person and where they live but I'm done with Pikachu. No more!
whats the use of catching them? I have a good IV raichu with the right moveset at 1265cp and 125 candies but i havent bothered with evolving another one or powering this one up. although its a really good prestige mon cuz its mostly below 1200 and can two of them can take out vapes 2500+.
Rather i use magnetons and voltrobs due to their high defense stat.
I knew this would happen, people will get eventually tired of it, it's just stupid to make a Christmas event with just ONE mon, even if it is a pikachu, still 14 days until it's finished and a lot of us are already tired of seeing it, for me it was an ultra rare spawn, only had one raichu (luckly I got it with the best moves) .
When I start seeing them I thought nice, I can power him up now! but it has only been a few days and already have the raichu maxed and like 40 pikachu to transfer and 50 candies already... I think it is nice to see a different mon spanw (I mostly see pidgey, rattata and weedle normally) but by the end of this event I think I will also be tired of seeing Pikachu.
Please Niantic, make a real event next week!!!
According to how Halloween was scheduled (oct 26- nov 1) Christmas event wont start until the 20th, and it will last 7 days. ending on December 26th the day after the actual holiday.
According to how Thanksgiving was scheduled (Nov.23-30) Christmas event will start on the 24th the day right before the actual holiday. It will last 8 days, which will be new years day.
but then there lies a problem. We have two major holidays within a week of each other, christmas day and new years eve. so who know how they would give us an event. most of the time, they just combine the two.
So im just going to assume the xmas/new years event will last longer than a week, but not longer than 2.
and it wont start until maybe the 22nd at the earliest.
actually every real pokefan grows to hate pikachu and its perfectly normal, but then you grow to accept pikachu and its ridiculous mascot priveleges/curses.
its not just niantic, gamefreak has some weird ideas about pikachu as well. sun and moon, they gave pikachu some hats as well. (ash's hat, Red's hat and two other hats i believe)
in ORAS we got cosplay pikachu, which was neat.
we've have spiky eared pikachu
in Sun and Moon, pikachu gets its own Z-move
by extension, pikachu gets some love by gamefreak by giving raichu an Alolan form.
we have light ball, a special item to power up pikachu.
in the end, no matter what they do pikachu wont be great competitively despite being the mascot of pokemon. i see all this pikachu stuff as neat and nice to look at but not a necessity.
I was actually surprised that x-mas Pikachu could evolve and still keep the hat, most of the time its not like that.

Pikachu had its "anime" cry in Pokemon Yellow and Pokemon X&Y.
I think I read somewhere that Pokemon Go gets the cries from the Pokemon X&Y sound files.
So Niantic didn't specifically decide to give Pikachu its "anime" cry, they just more generally chose to use sound files from a game that had Pikachu using its "anime" cry.
Blame Nintendo for Pikachu's cry.
