Thoughts on gender?

Should there be any value attributed to Pokemon with rare gender? On another note, how many trainers are concerned with having one of each gender for each pokemon?

I recently decided to try get a great male and a great female.
The hard part is keeping a lesser mon because the two better ones are the same gender.

Right now I'm working on filling out my pokedex with all the genders for all evolutions. As far as KEEPING less than desirable mons just because of gender? I say no.

Doubt breeding will ever be implemented in PoGo.

Even if it does, it's likely to copy most of the rules from the original breeding which means you won't need even nearly two of each pokemon for it. The egg groups and Ditto let you shortcut a lot.

If trading is ever implemented, collectors will absolutely value things like female starters and Togepi, male Igglybuff and Cleffa etc. I care about getting them marked into my dex but after that they need to have some other value for me to keep them as I'm banking on trading never happening.

Have the dex entries for the cleffa, iggly, and togepi but ignorantly tossed the “strong” female togepi hatch before evolving to get the togetic female entry. :-(

I like to cross off all available genders for all within the dex.
Some are harder to come by than others, so it adds a little extra goal.

something something 'em all.

Well, there's Vespiqueen... She already has the honor of evolving into that pretty cool monster.

I'm only concerned with having those that display sexual dimorphism. Which means I'd also want their shiny versions too.

For transgenders:
check your Alakazam! Females have a short moustache :)
Hitmonchan is a male in short skirt.
Mr. Mime, Slowbro, Slowking, Slaking also appear as female despite not being named Ms. Mime, Slowqueen, Slaqueen etc.
Misdreavus looks feminine, but can be male.
Delibird has a beard but can be female.
Delcatty males are dressed up feminine.
Mawile male looks feminine.
Medicham male looks feminine.
Bellossom male also behaves feminine.
Gardevoir also can be male.

Don't care about gender. At what point do you stop caring about every little difference? When you have the Pokemon at each level? At every weight difference?

When Box upgrades completely stop being released. Maybe.

My goal is to have 2 100% for every Pokémon - a Male and a Female. Until then, I keep anything with a high IV or two Attributes at 15 (within reason; I don't tend to keep low level 67% Pokémon because they have 2 attributes at 15. High level... different story) just in case they do implement breeding.

Which I don't expect.

But I'm keeping a lot of Pokémon (particularly female Pokémon) in my inventory just in case.

(Why yes, I do have cables from my original iRiver MP3 player from 2003ish in a box under my computer desk just in case I happen to come across an iRiver that needs to be connected to a computer. Why do you ask?)
