Sceptile - Fury Cutter or Bullet Seed?

Which is better?

Bullet Seed for STAB and higher energy gain. Fury Cutter for better dodge ability. On Sunny weather, Bullet Seed will be more useful than FC. The cooldown on BS isn't excessively high, so it's tolerable for me personally. I'd say BS is the better quick move.

That's interesting. I didn't realize that was the case. Might actually consider using FC for a bit.

Considering the number of thumbs down my comment got, I'm assuming FC is unanimously the better quick move. Relax, I've already switched to FC lol.

I have all my sceptiles as BS but I am really thinking of swapping them all to FC. There have been many cases in which only a tiny bit of energy is needed to launch leaf blade but i need to wait another 1.1S to use another BS to get the energy, and boom, i get HPed to the face by kyogre.

If fast tms are not an issue its good to swap back and forth depending on weather.

Furry cutter best in not sunny weather because of energy gains.
Bullet seed comes out a bit ahead in sunny weather and the defending mon must be weak to grass.

Fury Cutter is still better in sun. You need a double weakness to grass for Bullet Seed to edge out, and it is still not by much.

If I recall BS already edges out FC for single weakness, but not in a raid setting (i.e. Kyogre), because the amount of leafblades you cast are very limited so that one extra leaf blade FC allows you to cast really matters.

In normal gym battles with single weak you can even out the difference between the two moves because you don't get taken out so quickly (and have BS pull ahead even) , but in the Kyogre setting (which is what most people use their Sceptiles for) FC does take the cake.

With just a single grass weakness, Bullet Seed and Fury Cutter are within a few seconds of each other on PokeBattler, slightly in favor of Bullet Seed. Not anywhere near enough of a difference to be worth slowing your dodging so much, especially since Sceptile is a glass cannon so dodging is important for survivability.

If sunny weather is common for you, and you never try to dodge, then go for Bullet Seed. Otherwise, Fury Cutter will probably be more useful.

My two Sceptiles started off with BS, but after using them in Kyogre raids, I decided to TM both to FC instead. Reason for this is that FC has amazingly high EPS and is so quick that dodging is pretty effortless. While you miss out on STAB and SE damage swapping from BS to FC, the upside is you'll be able to fire off Leaf Blade more frequently before Sceptile faints.

FC all the way. Sceptile is all about Leaf Blade. FC gets you to Leaf Blade fastest. The only time BS is close is against double-weak to Grass.

Fury Cutter, since sunny is quite rare.

On Fafetch'd, which is better, Air Slash or Fury Cutter? Cut doesn't rate.

My personal favourite, Fury Cuter
Masive energy gain and fast...
Love it since the old gym system

Unless your Sceptile is maxed with 15 ATK IV, both quick moves perform similarly in neutral weather against Kyogre (Fury Cutter 2 dmgs each->6 dmgs in 1.2s, Bullet Seed 6 dmgs in 1.1s), but Fury Cutter has a better energy gain.

I pretty much have mine for raids: I think the photo speaks for itself.

Playing around on Pokebattler, it looks like FC is better versus Kyogre when it has WF/HP or WF/B, but BS is better against WF/T.
