IV relation to usage question

So a caught a wild Exeggute. Level 33 with 62IV but 15 attack. I also have over 3000 candies. Since Exeggcutor is top grass attacker is it worth the 50 candy since I have so much and attack is 15 to see if I get BS/SB since it is also at such a high level or will the low defense and HP hurt too much in the long run??

No. Wait for something else. I prefer 70% or above unless you are pretty sure that you can't get a second one.

He has 3000 candy, 50 candy does not matter. Only 1,667% of total candy reserve. I would however not spend any TMs on it if it gets any other moveset than double grass.

BS/SeB is also useful for smoother dps in last slot for Kyogre raids right now.

You have 3000 candies so definitely evolve it. If it gets a good moveset, you've got a really good grass attacker for basically no cost - 50 candies is nothing if you have 3000.

If not, you've only spent 50 candies and still have plenty more to use on a better IV Exeggutor when you find one.

Agree entirely. If you only had 300 candies, maybe not. However, you have 3000 (evolve 60 exeggcute!). Unless you have a goal to get to 5000 candy, why not? Worst case you get E/P and you use it once for a solo champ raid and toss it.

I would even use a fast TM if needed. I have so many myself and it is guaranteed the other fast move if you don't get bullet seed.

Agree. You have candy to spare. Evolve it. I caught a wild, level 35 Exeggcute, 84% iv, but 14H/14A/10D. With 1000 candies on hand, I didn't think twice, because I haven't invested the dust to take any of my other pineapple heads past level 30. He got Extrasensory/Solar Beam and is now my top grass type for Kyogre raids.

To me, there is no question to evolve good boosted mons in cases like this. The real question is: if it does indeed get a good move set -you obviously use it- but do you keep it long term (in light of limited mon storage space), or do you eventually grind it up?

When it comes to the Long Run, you will catch a better one in the future. You'll also catch probably 30 more Exeggutes before you catch that better one, so you'll be up by 70 candies by that point.

With 3000 candies, you can evolve 8 Level 1 Exeggutes and then power them up to Level 40 - you have the candies to experiment with.

Thanks for all the input. I figured it was the right thing to do. I evolved and got E/SoB.

Try it out. E/So and B/So are really close even when Bullet Seed has a type advantage. Bullet Seed is a weak move and only really pulls ahead with sunny weather boost. Depending on your fast TM situation, if you really want the double grass moveset though, it is guaranteed with just one fast TM use.

You're thinking of Confusion. Neutral Extrasensory doesn't match super effective Bullet Seed.
