Psychic mons question

I have 2 maxed out Espeon's both with C/FS and 1 maxed out Alakazam with PS/P. I evolved a 98 iv hatched Abra and got C/FS. Is it worth the investment to get up to lvl 30 or do my already maxed out 3, plus my 3 psychic Eggies mean I have enough good psychic mons. The Eggies are all lvl 33 or higher, 2 with E/P, one with ZH/P

I'd say it's worth it since Alakazam hits a lot harder than Exeggutor, if you have the stardust to spare. If you don't need it to Solo Machamp/Gengar raids then it might not be worth it.

If you don't have Mewtwo then defintely.

No. If you have 2 maxed out Espeons, 1 maxed out Alakazam, and a few level 33+ Exeggs, you should be able to take on even a weather boosted Machamp.
Exception of course being if you get a Mewtwo, you can power it up

PC/P Alakazam is pretty inferior. Check out this comparison vid:

C/FS is the moveset you should hope for when you evolve an Alakazam, and yours has 98% IV's. Absolutely, power it up. Make it a long-term project if you need to, but do it, and don't stop at level 30.

C/FS Espeons are a pretty good substitute for C/FS 'Zams, but they don't hit quite as hard.

Having a couple of psychic eggs is nice, but they are inferior as well, especially without confusion, and their greater tankiness doesn't really compensate for their lower damage output. Psychic is just plain worse in every way than future sight. Also, I don't know if you are speculating that ZH will be good again someday, but at the moment, it is just a worse ES (identical in every way except less energy gain). I guess it doesn't hurt to keep it just in case, but I sure wouldn't be using three psychic Eggs on any team when I had a 98% C/FS Alakazam sitting on the bench.

PC/FS works well too. Extra energy gain helps too.

Both work. If you like to dodge then go with PC. If you like to go with extra damage Confusion. I personally prefer PC but it's your choice. You do get better energy gain like DragoniteSlayer says, so you will be able to get more future sights off.

You need an extra FS just to make up the DPS difference between PC and confusion.

I think he's asking should he power up the Confusion/Future Sight Alakazam. His Psycho Cut/Psychic one was FULLY POWERED UP.

My point is that his psychic team is not optimal, and a powered up C/FS Zam would definitely be worth adding.

Thanks for the input. I was thinking of it as a long term project but wanted to see what others thought. Currently have 296k in dust and 177 candies.
The ZH eggy is a 96 iv which is why I still have it around. That is the Mon I was looking at replacing with the new Zam. Zam was one of the hardest mons for me to get candy for until the weather changes. I have a soft spot for the PS/P one because I really want psychic to become a 2 bar attack again.

I understand; I'm still hanging onto to my PC/P Zam, which was my first one, and the best moveset at the time. I never use it, though.

I also have a former legacy C/P Zam which I TM'd to FS, and it was like suddenly it was on steroids. It's now my best double psychic glass cannon, despite mediocre IV's.

But I too am hoping they make psychic 2-bars again.

Finally got tired of waiting and decided to go for future sight. Used the last of my TMs and it went focus blast, shadow ball, focus blast, shadow ball...

Pretty upset now.

Same thing happened to me when I finally decided to charge TM my legacy karate chop/cross chop Machamp, trying for KC/DP. I used up seven charge TM's toggling between close combat and heavy slam, and I never did get DP. I finally decided to stop wasting TM's, and in the meantime I've gotten enough C/DP Hariyamas that the KC Machamp is now gathering cobwebs.

It also took me six charge TM's to get shadow ball on what was a legacy SC/DP Gengar.
