Revive Drought..... Attack of Kygore

Revives were already rare enough to keep up on if you were active in Gyms. If you were putting in Defenders you wanted to keep like Blissey, it was problematic to keep up on revives for both raiding and gyms.

But Kygore feels like a game changer. We just did a kygore with 10 people. I went through 8 pokemon. And that meant 5 level 40 dragonites, a level 30 kygore, a level 40 egg, and 30 something Raikou. That was vs Hydropump.

Yesterday with snow and blizzard, it wasn't unknown to go through 6 pokemon and that was with a group of 12-16 of us all 35-40.

Meanwhile, we weren't averaging 6 revives a battle. So in the 15ish battles I did yesterday I watched my total revive (both kinds) amounts drop 30ish.

It's downright silly that when I beat a boss, I click through the TMs, Rare Candies, ignore those. What I want is the Revives. I'm happier to see a 12 Revive Drop then anything.

While standard stops and gyms do not seem to hardly ever drop revises I've found that spinning gold gyms of mine usually drop one but 2 pretty often and sometimes even 3. By focusing on spinning the gyms that I have earned gold in I now have a constant flow of revives even with 5 or so raids a day and all low number raids requiring 8-12 mons each time.

This. I am active in the gym scene and swimming in revives.

Yeah, it’s ridiculous! i I used to delete 30-40 revives a day and now I have to go around looking for them via hitting gyms. And I don’t even gym I just raid.

It's weird; my daughter's account NEEDS about 30 revives to bring back fainted Pokémon, but in the last 10-15 raid battles that has been done with her account, she might have gotten 5 revives in total. She's getting GR's and Potions by the bucketful (to the point where we've let her use the GR's to catch any Pokémon she wants, including Pidgey's - it's one of the few restrictions we try to put on her with it; GR's are for Raid Bosses only because she used to have so few, but she had 100 last week and we decided to let her go wild with them instead of just deleting them)

Meanwhile, my wife and myself, we're doing the same battles and I'm getting 3-6 per Raid while my Wife has taken to deleting Revives again she gets so many. My wife is also getting CTM and FTM's almost every raid, and I'm not getting any - I'm getting Potions.

POTIONS!!! Not GR's. Not Rare Candies. Potions - normally yellow potions. 3-9 per Raid.

RNG, man, RNG.

I battle gyms and raid and still don’t have this issue with revives. Almost have more defending hours than I have actual Pokémon caught. I threw away over 100 revives a few hours ago because I get too many.
Find a place with lots of gyms and get Gold Badges for them. Easiest way to get revives and potions.

"So in the 15ish battles I did yesterday"

why do you think your situation is normal?

my situation is different. what I don't want is revives... I have 170. But you don't see me start threads whining about it.

I am deliberately triggering the feint bug. Halves your revive use but its been hard on my six year old account who isn't so good at dodging.

One tactic is to start swapping out right before your Pokemon is about to get knocked out (unless it's about to use a Charged move). Chances are it's not going to get another Charged move off before it gets wiped (which reduces your cycle DPS) and you can spend potions to heal it rather than revives AND potions.

Just spin gyms more. I get at least one revive almost every time I spin one, enough that I still throw half of them away. In just the last three gym spins I did, I got 5 regular revives and 1 max revive.

Yeah, those five and six player Kyogre raids chew through a lot of attackers. Yesterday, with 14+ folks, I still used 5 attackers or so and averaged less revives. Did some dodging just to stretch out attacker lifespan.

I was able to replenish spinning the local gyms. I don't think you have to be gold at all, even silver gyms cough up a bunch of revives.

I've been getting a ton of TM's, a lot of golden razz, not so many revives and getting stiffed on rare candy often.

My new strategy is also to avoid small group raids, particularly Blizzard and HP.

Being “happier to see a 12 Revive Drop then (sic) anything” sounds really dumb on the surface, but after a little thought it gets even worse.

Revives can be had by spinning stops and/or gyms. TMs can’t. Rare candy can’t. Give me one rare candy/TM over a dozen revives any raid of the week.

Hell, give me one Rare Candy over 20 revives, give me one TM over 150 revives (I know that amount can't be earned, but still).

When you raid enough it's simply not dumb. It's all in how you want to play.

I literally deleted 40 fast tms other day for bagspace. I still have 60. I have already done silly fasts like making sure all my flareons have firespin over ember

Nor is Rare Candy as big a deal when you raid heavily. I did 75 Groudons, caught 54. Thats 162 Candy from catches + 51 for transfers (or 102 if you save them for a double candy like I do),

You're correct that everything is in how you want to play, but wanting/expecting common items that many others view as extraneous to be increased just because the way you choose to play includes not farming enough to heal your raiders when you do dozens of raids is a desire that is only going to hurt the gaming experiences of others. Some of us don't spend money on raid passes, but we'd still like to see a CTM once in a while, something that will become even more unlikely if Niantic listens to this type of complaint once more and nerfs the rare item drops from raids to increase the crap healing drops (just like they've already done before).

I'd trade 5 revives for a rare candy. Or, 3 Max Revives for a rare candy. Been dumping them daily as I do 1-2 raids daily...

Exorbitant amounts of complaints like these are what nerfed our Golden Razz, Rare Candy, and TM drops in the first place. Understand that you need to farm just a little if you do more than one raid per day (and that raid is actually difficult), or increase your item box to the point where you can hold onto a stock of healing, or (as I always suggest to posts like yours) just find an area with several gyms to farm, get those gym's badges to gold and never worry about healing items again.
Seriously, I haven't seen a CTM in what feels like months after more than a dozen T4s and T5s, but my daily T3 solos regularly give me 6-12 revives, when I only ever could need a minimum of 3-4 to heal the team I used.

Wow, you are dumb enough to wish for revives more than TMs and rare candies... If you can do 15ish battles yesterday, why not spin at stops along the way or at the 15ishgyms? You will find that revives drop so frequently that you will delete 10-20 revives everyday like me.. Lucky to 99% of Pogo players that you are not Niantic employee or else, the 99% players will curse you... Lol
