Kyogre team/experience

Haven't been able to go out today and raid but put up my teams for Kyogre.

For HP: Raikou, Raikou, Zapdos, Exeggutor, Exeggutor C, Exeggutor C.
For TH: Raikou, Raikou, Zapdos, Exeggutor, Jolteon, Groudon.
For B: Raikou, Raikou, Zapdos, Jolteon, Magneton, Groudon.

What is your experience? Especially with C Exeggutor? How does he perform? Would you change something? I don't have a good Sceptile, but do have a Venasaur and 3 Victrebeel I could swap in.

We ran 4 so far. Our trainers were 5-7. In the one raid that had 7 two of the trainers had awful attackers including a few unpowered tangelas and other junk.

Of the 4 only one had Blizzard. Honestly we lost more mons but we still won with considerable time left. Although no one has more than two Raikou Jolt does pretty good if he has TB. Mine often got off two TBs, and one somehow got 3 off. Yes it costs more items but it can still be done with reasonably low numbers with competent trainers.

A side note, the first one we did when it was sunny and he had thunder. It was absolute murder and not even close even though there were only 5 of us. Grass eggs just decimate him in that weather and unlike Groudon his own charges do not add coverage when it’s “clear” weather.

C exeggutor doesn't get wasted quite as easily as sceptile. You will need to have sceptile cast more than 3 leaf blades to match the DPS of C exeggutor. Don't think that's easily achieved.

EDIT:

I change my answer. Looking at some of the footage I captured at the Kyogre raid today, all of my sceptiles (level 34-35) managed to hit 3 leaf blades while one almost hit a 4th.

This is neck and neck compared to C exeggutor. C exeggutor can only last for 1 solar beam, that's 180 damage there, plus whatever amount of 20 damage confusions you can get in.

3 leaf blades for a sceptile is 210 damage. However, the rest of the damage is coming from the very weak bullet seed. Confusion will be able to make up some ground.

This is testing a maxed exeggutor (2888CP) vs a level 34/35 sceptile (around 2300 CP). A maxed sceptile might be able to fire off a 4th leaf blade and pull ahead of exeggutor.

This is about right. It should be noted that fury cutter is better for sceptile against Kygore in sims even though Kygore is weak to grass. FC charges the moves that quickly. Of course if the weather is clear that might change things a bit.

With the sky high defense of Kyogre however, will Fury Cutter do any damage to it at all?

That being said, if FC allows to charge a 4th Leaf Blade reliably then it will be very worthwhile indeed. I might TM all my sceptiles to learn FC actually and report some results tomorrow.

It sims better in neutral weather and neutral movesets more often. You can check pokebattler yourself; needless to say I thought it was a suspect conclusion too but after looking into the sims it appears pretty clear cut.

Edit to add:

It’s worth noting that many of us have long stretches of clear weather. In these cases I think BS outpaces or comes right there with FC. So to reiterate my above statement I think it’s just good no matter the quick move. FC would have a greater benefit if dodging with Sceptile was worth it in these cases but it isn’t.

I think they key thing to take away is that no FTM is needed for him at all.
