Please stop bragging about your mewtwo

All it does, and all the ex raid system does is to incite hatred, envy and rage. For every one of your Mewtwos, there is 100 of these type of people:

"I am level 40. I had every pokemon from bulbasaur to groudon to unown. But because of this shitty ex raid system, i can no longer get a full pokedex and nobody calls me the pokemon master."

To be honest in my opinion doing so means you are a supporter of the EX Raid system and thus makes you the supporter of an organization of swindlers, charlatans and clowns. If you ask which mewtwo you should power up or should you power up a mewtwo in ANY board, this should be the same.

Do not spend a dime until they fix this system, and issue a refund if you do. Also if you have a Mewtwo keep it secret and don't let anyone know it. For god's sake. If you brag about your mewtwo and ask that should you power up a 75%, you only shown how disgusting you are.

The answer for mewtwo power ups is very simple and is a no brainer. Power it up. You have no idea if you can get a better one or another one at all, and if it has hyper beam, charge tm it. It is a decent and powerful pokemon.

Please don't get tricked into beliving any fix for the "EX RAID System" coming soon, my redeem is to scrap it at all and issue mewtwo for regular tier 5 raids for 2 weeks then between breaks. (In other words, If there are no new legendary raids, the tier 5 should be Mewtwo.)

Thank you. Sorry for my salt fries but i really have to do it. So far i had 106 raids in a month starting from the beginning of my journey at mm12/dd3/yy2017 and i didn't get an ex raid pass, Even when multiple eligible gyms are raided, While people who did a single magikarp got it and others got multiple. To make it worse, sponsored gyms do not exist in HK and the only way to get one is to gamble at parks. If i make 1000HKD for each rare pokemon ran after a few Gold Razz Ultra Curveball Great i would had been made millions, if 20000HKD for each ex raid pass i would make 0.

As I clearly said in your other post, your 106 raids are cute and quite pathetic to be whining about a raid pass.

EDIT: I realise you're doing all these in a month, still, this number is nothing compared to what some others have.

Grow up and learn to be patient. Mewtwo isn't even a game changer in any significant way.

No worries. I usually don't call out someone like this but this is one of the worst rants I have seen in a while and is somewhat unjustified.

I don't have a mewtwo either, fyi.

Another thing you should’ve added to stop the incite but fall into it aswell is the “I have over X amount of raids done and no invite” how much you willing to bet that over 90% of those raids atleast have been not done on gyms that will turn into an EX raid?
If you want an EX invite I recommend finding out what gyms had EX raids in them multiple times in the past and raid only at them. That’s how I got one, I’ve raided a gym( that had EX raids on in 3 times since Mewtwo release) once a day for 3 days in a row and at the end of the week I got my invite. Admittedly that week I’ve used all my coins on raid passes and dedicated a lot of time on about 5 gyms specifically that I knew Ex raids happened in the past and got rewarded, but I don’t have the time , nor are the gyms close to home or do I want to spend real money to do it again. And all the gyms in question were in Central London...Got my mewtwo only 76% IV 12/11/11 powered it to 30 and thinking of going to 40 because I love using him and since capture has never been outside of my main Gym demolition team.

I know which gyms are eligible and religiously raid at least 2 or 3 of them. Of course, i still did not get one.

It's still a matter of luck. I happen to live near a gym that's the only EX eligible gym in the corresponding S2 cell. I have done the same raids as the people invited, often more than most of them at that gym during the invite periods, yet no invite. I may just be unlucky, it's a small sample size after all, or it may actually be biased against high level or more active players.

I have five and I kiss each one before I go to bed at night. I’m hoping to have seven by the end of the month and I’m going to name them Doc, Sleepy, Sneezy, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy and Dopey. They are all sooooo awesome! ?

Um, OK...but no Mewtwo, right? ?Because you can't use a scanner to find a Mewtwo. ? You could technically spoof your way into an Ex Raid pass though, so yay for you, I guess... ?

the fries are extra salty today! lol but i agree with you, mr-ex777 that mewtwo should be in regular t-5 raids. niantic would make a lot more money doing so as well. this would keep the majority fan base captivated instead of them leaving like @ReversalYouTube

It's even worse to have gotten an EX-raid pass pass only to have it stolen from you, without explanation, by Niantic (Sprint, Dec 25).

The system is beyond bad. For hundreds of complaints, check TSR/Reddit. OP is certainly not alone and has valid points.

I can live without Mewtwo (don't have any legendary birds either), but that's not the point. It's dividing and alienating the players and community and it's very unfortunate - and 100% Niantic's fault.

I definitely know how you feel and the ex-raid system itself is terrible. But just so you know, Brandon Tan from Singapore has done over 4500 legendary raids (countless at sponsored gyms or other ex raid gyms), and he's still waiting for his first pass...

Mr-Ex777,

Look, it's just a game. You make it sound like someone is taking away your health care or something. Your quote, "i (sic) can no longer get a full pokedex and nobody calls me the pokemon master," is kind of pathetic. Would your life be complete if people called you the pokemon master?

It's random. It's not fair, because fair and random are two different things.

Yesterday I did my first EX raid. It was fun, and not as hard as I thought it would be. Raiding along with me (and the other 40 or so people) was a pal from one of our local raid groups. Let's call him D.

I've been playing since about two weeks after the game came out, or since late July of 2016. The EX raid was my 113th raid, and my 36th legendary raid. Neither of these numbers are large, I wasn't in a raid group until just after Raikou was leaving the US. I'm level 36, and am currently gold in 17 gyms, bronze in that Sprint store.

D has also been playing since July of 2016, but he's way more serious than I am. The EX raid was his 1000th raid (first he did the Magikarp at the gym 20 feet away for his 999th). I don't have the exact number of his legendary raids, but I think it's over 200. He's gold in 47 (?) gyms.

We both got the pass for doing raids at a Sprint store. Mine was a Victreebel, but I was just there to get the Groudon we took out afterwards. Not sure what D did there, but I don't think he was at the raid I did.

At the EX raid, D took a leadership role, organizing the players by team, and we went in in three groups (with a few second accounts from Valor helping Instinct). In hindsight, that was probably overkill, and we could have formed groups of 6-8 players, for possible better loot. D wasn't bitter about getting his first pass at the same time as a bunch of noobs (and serious but less committed players like me), he just enjoyed the moment, and got his Mewtwo, like almost all of us.

If you're upset about not getting a Mewtwo, then do what you can to increase your odds. Find out where the sponsored gyms and park gyms in your area are. Do a raid at each one at least a couple of times a week. Get other players to do the same - also try to do larger raids together, even for bosses you don't care about. You'll still get XP, dust, and hopefully rare candy, golden razzies, and the odd TM. If you don't care about the mon, throw with no berries, practicing to get great and excellent throws, and don't worry if Nidoqueen gets away. If you hit the right gyms in the right way with the right frequency, an EX pass will come to you eventually.

My biggest concern with all of this is that with Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, and the other Legendaries and Mythics coming out, Mewtwo is going to be like Arcanine was very early in the game - best fire mon for now, but eclipsed by many others with time. After all, that's the nature of these games, if the new isn't better than the old, the game is dying.

I doubt OP cares about being a pokemon master, he was just making a point. But it's not really justified for the haves to dismiss the concerns of the have nots.

I also doubt OP fails to understand that this is not RL... and no one compares this awful selection system to the tragedies of RL.

You are dismissing and minimizing our valid complaints.

"it's not really justified for the haves to dismiss the concerns of the have nots."

I was one of the have nots until yesterday, when I got Mewtwo. I never complained about the unfairness of a random system before I got my EX pass. It's random. That's inherently unfair. That's why we don't base our tax codes on randomness (although the loopholes are convoluted and seem random, none of them involve actual randomness).

"You are dismissing and minimizing our valid complaints."

Well, I feel they aren't valid, so I'm saying what I think. It's a game. Games involve randomness. Play Monopoly and never roll doubles? Maybe we should change the rules to let people move to whatever square they want, between 2-12 spaces. That would be more 'fair', but not very much fun at all. Or in poker, instead of dealing the cards, let the players pick their hand from a deck. I don't think that game has much of a future.

Niantic made the game the way they did. I'm not sure why they chose to do EX raids this way - it's clearly a system that has alienated a number of players. I suspect they wanted Mewtwo raids to be special, more so than the usual legendary raids. But that's what the game is. One can always quit (like HarryTipper2 claims he did) or change the way one plays. Once trading is a thing, someone with 4 Mewtwos can trade one to someone with none, and this will be less of a problem.

So people without a Mewtwo can come here and complain about how unfair it is, or they can do a little research, find out which gyms in their area are good for EX raids, hit those gyms often for raids, and drastically increase their odds to get an EX pass. I did neither, I just got lucky and got one. Hopefully, you will too.

I don't play the lottery because I don't like those odds. But it's up to Niantic to make the EX raid system fairer. But they choose not to.

Fine, I have other in game goals, and am certainly not trying to supposedly increase my EX raid odds by raiding at certain gyms (unless convenient). Apparently, that's wasted effort anyway.

However, I wouldn't dismiss the concerns of players who feel cheated as unreasonable, immature, or some of the other things people have said.

P.S. Congrats on your Mewtwo.

"But it's up to Niantic to make the EX raid system fairer. But they choose not to." I suspect they will eventually. Put Mew and/or Celebi in EX raids, and have Mewtwo pop up very rarely as a regular Tier 5. Not sure why they haven't yet, I think the EX raid system is the biggest thing players complain about.

"(I) am certainly not trying to supposedly increase my EX raid odds by raiding at certain gyms (unless convenient)." And this contributes to why you don't have a Mewtwo. I'm not saying this to rub it in or insult you. I'm saying it because if there are known things you can do to improve your odds, and you won't do them, you have lost a lot of the power in arguing how unfair it is.

Another example. I'm a F2P player, I won't spend any money on the game directly. (I upgraded my phone, and I sometimes drive to places, spending time and gas money). But I choose to not spend money on the game. That makes it harder for me in many ways (or, Pokemon GO advanced mode, as I like to think of it). I could spend money to get raid passes to do more raids to increase my chances of getting an EX pass, but I won't do that. However, I've never complained that the pay players get all the EX passes. I understand that they will have certain advantages I won't have, and that's fine. But as far as I can tell, I can be competitive with them, use the free raid passes and the ones I buy with in game coins earned from gyms to do raids, and play the same game they do. If the game gets to the point where I have to pay real money to be competitive, then I'll hang it up.

But it's not a legitimate stance to say something like "I play this way, and I'm not getting what I want, but I won't do what I need to do to get what I want, so they should change the rules."

"Apparently, that's wasted effort anyway (doing raids at EX likely gyms)." Sure, it's wasted if you ignore the effects of statistics. You can't guarantee a pass, but you can make it way more likely by doing the things to increase your odds. There will always be outliers, like that dude in Hong Kong with something like 4500 raids and no EX pass, and people who have done under 100 raids and get multiple EX passes. That's the nature of randomness. But what isn't random is that my wife, who does not have an account or play the game, will never get an EX pass.

"However, I wouldn't dismiss the concerns of players who feel cheated as unreasonable, immature, or some of the other things people have said."

I can't speak for everyone, but I haven't dismissed the concerns of players who feel cheated. My main raid group is based in an impoverished area around the university I work at. There are no Starbucks or Sprint stores in their area. They have very few public parks, small ones, with limited parking, in out of the way places. Not surprisingly, they also suffer from a serious dearth of EX passes. I may be the only person in the group who got one, ever. Now that's unfair. Players who ride the bus to go to gyms, or walk a couple of miles in the cold to spin a bunch of stops, and they don't get the same opportunity that the more affluent players in neighborhoods around them get for EX passes. (It was in one of those more affluent neighborhoods that I got mine.) Many of them spend some real money on the game, money that is much more dear to them than their more affluent neighbors. That's a complaint I can easily relate to, and one that Niantic would be well served to address very soon.

But "I don't feel like doing what I need to do to increase my chances to get an EX pass," that I can't put much stock in.

"P.S. Congrats on your Mewtwo."

Thanks, but it doesn't feel like that big of a deal to me. I'll use it, but I'm more proud of the 96% Dragonite that I build up, candy by candy, before pinap berries were available, while Dratini are rare everywhere I've played, and where I had to commit to doing this one thing with a lot of effort to make it happen. Earlier this week (to get ready for the EX raid, it was sunny,) I powered up a MS/SB Groudon, and at level 30 it has a slightly higher CP than my old Dragonite at level 37. But I still like the Dragon better.

Anyway, good luck with getting an EX pass. I hope you all do soon. Even if it means that my Mewtwo isn't 'special' anymore.

The Mewtwo that I got through chance and caprice, I'll power it up, and use it to help me in Machamp raids, etc. But it doesn't have the same meaning for me as Dragonite or Gyarados that I worked for.

Mewtwo is as safe as safe can be. If it's not spot-nerfed on top of the existing nerf, it will stay the best Psychic pokemon and one of the best generalist attackers until gen 6 or 7 where it *might* get competition. It's still to date one of the highest stat total pokemons in the handhelds.

(Also Arcanine was not eclipsed by new pokemon, the stat formula change and gen 2 moveset changes made Flareon a much better fire mon long before legendaries entered the game.)

EDIT: And none of us who haven't been lucky with ex passes need your condescending attitude and advice on how to increase the odds. Everyone knows what you can do and most of us are doing it. The fact that the ex passes stay elusive despite all the effort means at least to me personally that I'm losing interest. And I know I'm not the only paying player who feels like this.

As a psychic powerhouse, Mewtwo is safe. But as 'The strongest pokemon in the game, bar none', not so much. Mewtwo used to be, even after the Gen2 Legendaries, but that's ending with Gen3.

Basing your whole enjoyment of the game on whether you get ONE pokemon out of literally hundreds (which isn't even that useful tbh) is quite childish and idiotic. You're just a manbaby getting envious that everyone has an overrated toy that you do not have. Ridiculous! Why don't you start behaving your age already? Unless you are 10-yo boy, then, my apologies sweet child.

Damn, these comments are savage! XD

Jokes aside, though, the EX Raid system is pretty bogus, and it proved to be even more bogus when people (like DeLana_99) got an EX Raid Pass for Christmas Day to finally get a chance at facing Mewtwo, only for Niantic to take it away from them for reasons not even specified. That's far worse than never even getting an EX Raid Pass, like that honestly sucks big time.

Nevertheless, I myself have yet to receive an EX Raid Pass. But, to be honest, I'm glad I haven't yet. I lost my desire to get Mewtwo a long time ago, when Niantic decided to nerf it, which is a shame since Mewtwo is my favorite Pokémon. It personally bothers me that Mewtwo can't go above 4000 CP, and I'd rather not use a nerfed version of Mewtwo in battle, but that's just me. So, I'm in no rush to get an EX Pass.

Also, if I did have a Mewtwo, I wouldn't brag about it unless someone posted a thread telling people to show off their top 12, in which case it would be perfectly okay to show off your Mewtwo. Otherwise, you can just check what Pokémon I have in my box in this website, if you're ever curious.

Damn, what a pathetic cry-baby.

I do raids with a lot of people (though probably fewer than some in big cities) and when EX-raids started rolling out and the first few got invites, nobody was salty. We congratulated them and wished them good luck. There were little kids who were really excited and it was great to see.

One of us had two invites before most of us had a chance at one and we supported her, even if we also joked that now she didn't need to raid anymore.

In the end I got my Mewtwo and nobody was salty about that. It was just support and well-wishes. I also supported everyone there and congratulated the ones who got better IV than mine.

After that I haven't gotten a 2nd invite, but I, like everyone else here, continues to support eachother.

But I guess I live in an area with good people and not assholes like you who gets salty when things don't go your way.

The problem isn't people who got a Mewtwo (or more than one) and ask for suggestions about what to do with it.
The problem is massive cunts like you who can't be happy for others and just want to whine and ruin the game for everyone else.
So please just shut the fuck up and fuck off.

Players from HK. I would say HK is actually a good place for ex raid for that "ex raid gyms" (gyms that mewtwo appeared before) are rather concentrate and you can easily do serveral raids from ex raid gyms everyday, if you wish. Moreover, 106 raids in a month actually means nothing at all. For you reference, I did around 50 raids during the new year holiday and finally got one pass. You just need to do lots of raids within a short period of time, focusing on the raids from ex raid gyms. Not only Groudons, but every raids (I did countless one star and two star raid bosses, which is really disgusting). I suggest you work harder on raid bosses, or else you should delete the game.
