Frequency of shiny Absol and Mawile

My daughter and I have caught six Absols and three Mawiles* between us, and one of each has been shiny. Are they a lot more common than shinies from normal wild spawns, or have we just been really lucky?

*I actually caught the shiny Mawile for a friend, so I didn't get to keep it.

Anecdotally, yes. But I don't think anyone's amassed any hard statistical evidence.

Well, that's the thing: there is no such thing as anecdotal "evidence." Just lots of people sharing their experiences of shiny versions of those Pokemon seeming to be less rare than in the general Pokemon population. So by the chatter, it does sound like they are more common, but there are no confirmed rates to go by (AFAIK).

I got 2 shiny wild and one (magikarp) in a raid. I would seem that the raid one was more lucky than it should have been. I have heard that shiny are one in 8000 but have seen no hard evidence that raids are the same or more common. I have done a dozen or more Sableye and never got shiny
