Slaking- Yawn/Hyper Beam
In the Fast Moves section, I see that Yawn has 0 Damage. That's cool but what bugs me is its energy gain. The chart shows that Yawn generates 15 energy in 1.7 seconds. But it also shows that its EPS is 0. I have a Slaking with Yawn/ Hyper Beam. Now, I don't want the battle to time out before I get a chance to do damage. I have some Charged TMs which I can use on my Slaking so that it gets Play Rough. Its notable that Slakoth is very rare in my area and I don't think I'll evolve another Slaking with 98% IV. Now, let's come to the point. Does Yawn generate any energy at all or Slaking has to rely on taking hits to do damage? Should I TM my Slaking? What kind of attacking strategy is best for Slaking? What is Slaking's best attacking move and why? How useful is Slaking in the current metagame?

According to pure DPS site http://pogomoves.com/rankings/gym-offense.php
Slaking with yawn/play rough is at an impressive 952nd place out of all available movesets of non-legendary pokemon, dealing 50.66% damage of the best DPS attacker (Salamence, but you can use Dragonite DTOR or Gengar SCSB as a proxy)
To give some context, its DPS neighbours include:
Steelix Iron Tail/Heavy Slam
Dugtrio Mud Slap/Earthquake
Hitmonchan Bullet Punch/Fire punch
It is god awful DPS wise but Slaking does make it incredibly fun to play just for the lols. And its bulk is very impressive as well, just a bit under snorlax levels.
Even if they do unnerf his stats, Slaking will still be crap. It wasn't good in the main series either due to it's Truant ability.
I don't see why people think Slaking should be or needs to be good just because of it's high CP. People wanted Ditto in the game and then a few weeks later after it's release the novelty of Transform wore off and no one cared about it anymore because it sucked.
