Hidden Power

Have anyone noticed that Hidden Power is boosted by Partly Cloudy, even though the move itself is of another type? I have a Porygon2 that has Hidden Power of Bug type and it shows a weather boost.

So is Hidden Power a dual type move and will I get STAB?

Hidden Power is classed as a Normal type move regardless of its actual move type. The irony is that Hidden Power can never be/deal Normal type damage.

It can´t? Guess I wasted loads of porygon candy trying to get a hidden power/normal one. Tried at least 10 times. :-)

I understand that it will not do Normal type damage. But since the game/weather system sees it as a Normal move and weather boosted it, then wouldn't I get STAB with my Porygon2 regardless of what actual type it is?
