Thoughts on the new shop boxes?
Are they a good deal?
Especially what do you think about the Ultra one?
(I have no bag space, I hate lucky eggs & I'm level 40)

I'm going to answer this using my own values of what items should cost.
Star pieces are rubbish, they should be worth about 10 coins each. So we'll say 20 is equivalent of 200 coins.
10 raid passes=1000 coins
16 lucky eggs= about 800. if you're level 40 they're worth zero.
superincubators =100 each(what their true value is not the rip off price in the shop) =600 for 6.
Even if you ignore lucky eggs and use my reduced values, you're still getting a decent deal from this box. the last boxes were rubbish
I say if you don't value lucky eggs, all these boxes are hot garbage. Even if they big box is technically a good deal, I say you're better off saving your $15 for a better deal next event. If you're hard up for passes and/or incubators, think about it, but otherwise, I think all the boxes this event have been lackluster.
As usual with these boxes it ultimately comes down to what you need.
Sure, you can calculate each thing in the box and look at how much you save, but if you're not interested it getting any Star pieces, then that will just be something you'll pay for, but do not want.
It's like the boxes we got some time ago with raspberries. Few (if any) buy raspberries, so I wouldn't even count their value when calculating the value of the box.
If you want/need everything in the box, then it's usually a good deal, but we seldom do.
For me these boxes are okay.
Here's my estimation of the boxes value for me. I'll remove Star Pieces from the equation because I'm not really interested in them.
And incubators aren't as interesting now as when there's a double xp/dust/candy event. I'll count them, but they're not a priority.
As for value on Lucky Eggs and such, I'll go by the cheapest possible price (less expensive to buy more at once).
Winter Box (480 coins):
I'm not really interested in getting Star pieces.
P. Raid Passes = 200
Lucky Egg: 200
Total: 400
Verdict: Would be a loss for me to buy this one. Not worth it.
Great Box (780 coins):
S. Incubators: 400 (they cost 200 each when they where available)
Lucky Eggs: 400
P. Raid Passes: 300
Total: 1100
Verdict: Not bad, but not great. I'd prefer to get more raid passes.
Ultra Box (1680 coins):
S. Incubators: 1200
Lucky Eggs: 800
P. Raid Passes: 1000
Total: 3000
Verdict: Really expensive, but it also saves me the most coins. The raid passes alone makes up for more than half of the price and even if I remove the incubators, I still make save a few coins.
Will probably get atleast one of these.
I have two problems though:
1. I usually have a very limited space in my bag, so not sure how I will manage to make all these items fit.
2. I will have a lot of Star Pieces that I'll rarely use, but I don't want to throw something away that I've paid for. So I'll probably have to waste them :(
P.S. I would not mind getting a box at some point that only contained Pokeballs. It's not as if I desperately need them, but it would be nice for people with limited access to Pokestops. Also, seeing as it's either wet and cold, or snowy and cold here at the moment, I'm not always in the mood to go out collecting Pokeballs for a couple of hours every day.
200 is way overpriced for super incubators.
I value them 150 = normal incubators
Because they do the same thing...saving a few KMs has really no value, because you're gonna do that 3 more KMs either way.
*The only scenario where super incubators are more valuable than normal ones is on the LAST single Day of a double Dust event,
When you need to hurry hatching those eggs.
I have around 4,600 hard-earned gym coins saved, and I just don’t find these boxes compelling enough. I’m level 39 & don’t care about lucky eggs, only incubators and raid passes. Theoretically, the big box is a good deal even just for those, but it would take me forever to get enough 10k eggs to use that many incubators, and I’d probably end up doing raids I wouldn’t do otherwise if I had that many passes. It’s a decent deal, but not compelling enough for me to part with a month’s worth of gym coins.
