Yep! It is pretty cool. I made sure I had caught a 2nd one with a hat just in case before I evolved him.

Like I mentioned in another thread, so far all the Pikachus I have come across have the hat.

Yeah but now just trying to catch one with Thunder Shock/Thunder or Quick Attack/Thunderbolt with a good IV.

I caught an 86.7% but he has Thunder Shock/Discharge. C'est la vie.

I caught one and am now seeing a second in the nearby feature. They must have increased the spawn rate. Pikachu is normally rare near me.

yeah they did. I had only seen one pikachu since the start of the game, and looking now at my radar he already appeared twice.

He was my buddy for the last three weeks since I thought it was my only way to get a raichu for my pokedex. Looks like I wasted those weeks :(

Never walk for the dex, only for powering up your favs. I'm tempted to walk my Kabuto to get the missing candies but if I ever stumble upon a nest I'd be mad so I don't and rather walk my Lapras or Togepi, if I hatch one because it'd be cool to put in Gyms when most people don't have it yet.
