Togepi pichu and more but no gen2
Screw Niantic, seriously...That's all? togepi and pichu and only from eggs? Do they really think I will start spending money on a ton of incubators just for two gen2 mons and both useless?
I did not see that coming at all...No new events information? Legendaries? Rest of gen 2?
"These are the first of more Pokémon coming to Pokémon GO over the next few months" - By that time you will have probably lost thousands and thousands of players.
This is disappointing and lame. I stopped buying incubators a month ago. Now I've got to clear out all my existing eggs and then hope that I get a new egg with one of these guys. I'm just not going to do this, especially for a Pichu.
The holiday Pikchu is a bit exiting, though.
They really need to give out a second red incubator, maybe as a reward for L20 or L30. The ability to discard eggs would also help.
Don't do it, don't give them the pleasure spending the coins. If they see their income reduced they will for sure do something to keep us happy.
This announcement was very very lame to me, keep the expectation that high for 2 new baby mons? And you can't even get them in the wild or use a female and male pikachu to get pichu from egg? Only from eggs you get on stops and with what probability? 1/40 or less maybe, it took me almost 5 months to get a lapras from a 10k, for sure will be similar to get those 2 new ones to make sure people keep buying incubators...
Lame Niantic, it hurts the most to me because how they did it making us waiting 4 days pretending that this day would be for ever remembered or something like that
I'm not here to defend Niantic (especially after my continuing issues with the POS tracker), but the hype for Gen 2 was EXCLUSIVELY fan driven. Their announcement last week of today's announcement was cryptic, granted, but in no way shouted "100 NEW POKEMON!!!"
If you bought into the hype, blame yourself.
By itself, yeah, I can understand disappointment. But right now I have an 8-year-old that just shit her pants looking at the photo of the Santa Pikachu I caught at work and who will no doubt urge me to clear out my wall of 5K eggs in hopes of getting the baby eggs. So maybe it's just a matter of perspective ;)
Do you really think it was our fault? THEY created the hype, saying "New Pokemon coming to Pokemon Go on 12/12", stay tunned! Also new in game events! For this s... they could have say it without creating that hype, that's why I complain, not what they have done, but HOW they have done it.
If they would do just a regular announcement without saying that some days ago I for sure won't complain, 2 new mons and a santa pikachu with a normal update, it's just ok, funny and nice.
I think a lot of people was like me at least expecting the new Christmas event details and gen 2 details, not the release, but a date, like Christmas event 2x candy and buddy distance, and gen2 will be released on February 2017, for example.
You might have a small point if it weren't for the following things.
A) The people who were saying Gen 2 was coming were technically correct. Togepi, Pichu, and the rest of the baby mons were originally found in Gold and Silver.
B) As far as I am aware, all of the Gen 2 Pokemon Cries are in the APK. Meaning there was no hints that we weren't going to have access to Gen 2 all at the same time.
C) The initial release is only things that come out of eggs. Meaning many players will have to walk for a while before even having a chance to get one of the new pokemon.
If you say game facts don't forget the most important one then, on the games you make a male and a female pikachu get an egg and you get pichu from it, not just a random thing with a 0.00001% probability ;)
Also why the initial release must be from eggs only? Just to get more money from us, that's the only reason
I got a holiday pikachu using the new nearby feature. It is buggy though. The Santa hat shows up in my recent list but not in the mon's page. It was at a new Starbucks stop of course.
Update: it is now showing. I think the sprite just took time to load and they showed the non holiday one in the meantime.
This is exactly why I complain, it's just an stupid event, I won't even look for that Pikachu with a hat, this should be a second part of the event, make 2x candy or 2x dust AND Pikachu, not only this.
Anyway uzik, I would probably stick to that eggs, at least hatch only 1 and keep 8, because probably they are just trying to people get rid of all eggs and then make a new year event or christmas one but only last week of the year. I just image the worst from this company from now on ;)
Note: We people outside Japan don't deserve a Lapras or Snorlax event someday? Of course it just a dream that will never come true.
Yeah I'm not entirely annoyed or anything in regards to Gen 2. Frankly releasing more 'mons will only drive my Stardust anxiety even higher.
I'm with you though, I'm more disappointed about not getting some big end of year/holiday giveaway or 2x/4x/etc. on Stardust or Candy (I can do without XP).
