Alakazam dilemma
I have a L30 98% (15A/15D/14S) Alakazam, who originally had Conf/SBall, but currently has Conf/FoB after I wasted all my 5 Charged TMs in a failed attempt to get Conf/FS.
There was a massive Abra nest at East Coast Park, Singapore, just a week ago, so I farmed Abra candies to evolve a 96% (13A/15D/15S) hatchling, which got PC/FS!
Guess what I caught in windy weather (which is rare in Singapore) yesterday? A L26 96% (15A/13D/15S) Abra! Unfortunately, the Abra nest is gone and I only have 115 Abra candy.
Should I continue to spend Charged TMs on the L30 98% Alakazam, power up the L20 96% Alakazam, do both or wait for enough Abra candy for the L26 96% Abra? Stardust count is 600k.
I already have Dragonites with OR and Hu, two Exeggutors with Solar, two Gyaradoses and a Vaporeon with HP, a Rhydon and a Golem with SE, a Tyranitar with Crunch, a Machamp with DP, a Raikou with WC, an Entei with OH, an Espeon with FS and a Gengar with SBall.
In other words, my only other Charged TM candidates are a 89% Venusaur with VW/PB, a 93% Groudon with MS/FB (if I do not get a better one) and possibly a 87% Scyther (once evolved).
Saving Charged TMs for future attackers only makes sense for Gardevoir. I will only get a second Machamp or Tyranitar by having an Alakazam (or two) that is good enough to solo Machamp.
On the other hand, Conf/FoB is useful for attacking Normal-type tanks, as Alakazam is resistant to ZH and not weak to DG (making Machamp look like a glass cannon instead).
Powering up the L20 96% Alakazam with PC/FS would cost me 75k stardust and 66 candy. If I wait for 156 Abra candy to evolve the L26 96% Abra, I could save 39k stardust, but FS is not guaranteed. Likewise if I walk another Eevee, but those I catch are crap (even in partly cloudy weather) and I need another 12 Larvitar candy to power up my Tyranitar to L30.

I had the same horrible luck, each time I'd evolve an Alakazam I'd get C/FB, I got so fed up I gave up on it, but then I hatched a 15/15/12 Abra and when I evolved it to I finally got myself a coveted C/FS Alakazam.
So, my advice would be to just wait and evolve that Abra, you might catch a lucky break with that one, but if you don't want to wait then just TM your 1st Alakazam (the one with the 15 ATK IV). The 96% isn't worth it imo because it has the lowest ATK IV out of the three.
As I gather Charge TMs, I use my Alakazam with Conf/FoB to attack Normal-type tanks with Psychic-type quick moves (which are SE into Machamp) and Fairy-type charge moves (which are SE into Machamp, Dragonite and Tyranitar).
My main alternative for this role is Exeggutor with Conf/Solar. I suppose 75k dust on an Entei with FS/OH would be a good investment, as Metagross and several upcoming legendaries are weak to Fire-type attacks.
Planning to spend a few hours at a nearby Torchic nest, but have heard that Blaziken is simply not good enough.
I personally prefer pc because of fast energy gain and easy to dodge with. Alakazam is a true glass cannon. For t3 machamp solos, u need to dodge every charge move. If u don't u will only get one future sight off. If u dodge every charge move, u can get 2 3 futuresight off. This abra, once evolved into alakazam, came with confusion/focusblast. I only had one charge tm so I didnt mind I got shadowball since my maxed out one has future sight already. Maybe in the future I will change it to fs.
Plus iv is forever. U can not ever change it but u can always earn dust, candy, and get a charge tm from raids. Only one better is a perfect. Plus it also has 15 attack and defense. Difference between 14 and 15 stamina is 97 hp for 14 stamina and 98 hp for 15 stamina. Just 1 hp difference but 15 defense will let you hit certain defensive breakpoints faster and sometimes 15 defense is needed to hit last defensive breakpoint at 40. Which means less damage from fast moves and charge moves which is a lot greater than 1 hit point. U won't regret having a 97iv alakazam. while if u do power up the 95 or evolve the 95 abra, u might regret spending resources on them later on when u could of used the resources instead powering up the 97iv alakazam.
Thanks for the replies! I spent another Charged TM on the L30 98% Alakazam and got...FS! Hooray! Now to decide whether to also spend 75k dust on my L20 96% Alakazam.
Since I no longer have an Alakazam with FoB to attack Blissey/Chansey with DG, I spent 75k dust on my Entei. 6% ScThen I evolved my 87% Scyther, just to see what moveset it gets. BP/XS needs a Fast TM, but at least I know my Venusaur with VW/PB is my only Charged TM candidate until Groudon raids are over or I get Gardevoir, a second Machamp or a second Tyranitar.
