Which larvitar to evolve?

The 98% all day long....no question

be patient. i found a 98% level 32 larvitar (15A/14D/15S) on a cloudy day this week and its my new best. I took 3 L20 TTars to 30 and 1 to L35 in the past from raids. No regrets but nows a good time to take advantage of the weather boost.

Are you in an area where t4 raids are difficult or impossible to do, so you can't hope to get a Tyranitar from a raid? That has been my situation, so I can relate. My priority is getting the few I have (recently evolved my 4th, lvl 29 now) into good fighting shape.

I would therefore evolve your level 34, it has a decent attack stat and won't need a lot of candy. Then you can start saving candy for your near perfect one. My lowest IV Tyranitar, from a rare pupitar wild catch (since powered up to 35), does very well in battle - no regrets.

I'm sure you will get other opinions. Let us know what you decide to do.

98%. No exceptions.

As you need 66 candy to power up from L20 to L30, I would advise to wait until you have 190 candy (especially if you are walking Larvitar) to evolve and power up the 98% Larvitar. Save some TMs in case it gets IT/FB.

The Level 34 is better to evolve if you don't have the opportunity to do a lot of Tyranitar raids. The 98% is a very nice Long-Term investment - months and months of walking, getting lucky on the hatching, etc. - but the Level 34 is immediately useful. 123 candies, 0 Stardust, you're done.

The other one is 199 or so candies and a hell of a lot of stardust then not even getting to the same level as the other. It's a tough choice, but I'd power up the Level 34 then work on raising the Level 20 up over the next few months.

If you will not spent plenty of rare candies and don't have access to ttar raids, then I'll go with high level one. You only spend 123 candy, 0 dust and get good ttar.
