That would be awesome if Niantic responded to all the whiners by making Mewtwo disappear for a while.
The EX system is far from perfect, and I'm sure Niantic will continually tweak it, but even the current system is better than making Mewtwo as easy to obtain as all the other legendaries.
If there is a petition somewhere to keep the EX raid system, I will sign it.
Think of the big picture if you are able mate. Whatever you saw with your eyes was but a minute proportion of the player base as a whole and thus cannot be used as comparison haha. Many players have done hundreds of raids yet didn't receive a pass. Worldwide, not just in your small town/city/park/mind. Don't miss the forest while looking for trees, the problem isnt players who haven't received ex passes the problem is players who have done what was loosely termed "required criteria" and didn't receive it :). So dont sign the petition if you want that is your decision but maybe broaden your horizons while you're at it. The world isn't your lil town. Oh and before you ask, i have a mewtwo. No salt here, just someone who sees the bigger picture.
I take it you haven't. What's your point...that our opinions on the subject are inextricably linked to our personal experience? I was frustrated not to get one of the early EX passes, and yet I still urged calm for all those complaining. I figured we'd all get our chance soon enough, and I preferred to wait patiently, rather than have Mewtwo be as easy to obtain as the other legendaries.
Sure, I was relieved and excited to get an invite when it happened, but my opinion on EX raids was the same before I got the pass. It's not a perfect system, and I'm sure Niantic knows that and will continue to try to tweak it.
Most people can’t follow directions and raid at right places. And they complained instead of trying to figure out the system. This game is not equal opportunity either, some cities have better spawn/biome/density than others and it’s well known that city > rural as well.
I got two out of the three ex pass rounds since it came out of field test. And if I keep on doing what I did, I’ll be getting a Mewtwo every week or every other week.
It's really not always as simple as you may think, chogall. I did one raid at a sponsored gym the second week of the test phase and got my pass. However, my main raid partner did not, and since has done a minimum of 3 raids per week at gyms that fall under the criteria, one week even doing 3 per day (with my help) for 5 days to increase her chances (bear in mind, the several sponsored gyms in our area are all a minimum of 3-4 miles apart), she still has yet to receive an invite (and I've never gotten another one, though that is less important). There's even chats in the local discord group that keep track of which gyms get the EX raids so people can try to increase their chances, but none of that has worked out for my friend. Yet there are people who have been able to get many passes and several Mewtwos, all while others have essentially resigned themselves to never getting one. Not exactly a system that is easy or fair, particularly since you aren't even guaranteed to catch the thing if you do get an invite.
The "directions" you speak of don't work for 99.99%. Just because they did in your little area for your sampling of what, exactly 2 people, means nothing. I and my group have spent hundreds collectively chasing EXraids, during the 'hot' mewtwo phase and none of us got a pass. We have given up. screw sponsors, screw parks, screw previous raids, screw sprints, screw starbucks, screw fountains, screw landmarks, screw suburbs, screw gold badges, screw lvl 1s, screw lvl3s, screw lvl4s, screw lvl5s, screw it all lol. I forgot they still have ex-raids and I LIVE IN NYC and raid in ALL 5 BOROS!
I complained about ex raids on the very first day, got told i'm wrong. So i was right after all? ;)
There is literally no reason for ex raids to exist except as a method to make players do more raids and give Niantic more Wonga!! That's their purpose.
This is a game where you have more chance of catching a legendary than of finding wild pokemon like grimer and mareep. Because grimer and mareep ain't money makers..
