I really hope so. I was lucky enough to start playing when Raids were released but not before the first moveset change.

DT/DC is a pretty good moveset. Dragon Tail loses some maneuverability for dodging, but is stronger than Dragon Breath. PokeBattler simulations and PoGoMoves.com both rank DT/DC among Dragonite's top movesets, and higher than DB/DC.

Dragon Breath used to be a much stronger move, but was nerfed pretty hard with the Gen2 update. After that update, GamePress initially ranked DB/DC lower also, but a lot of people were upset about that ranking of their favorite moveset and were incredibly vocal about it here. GamePress eventually relented and pushed DB/DC up the rankings just to appease those players.

Dragon Breath is only better if you are trying to dodge all moves, but not many people bother to do that any more. Dragonite is a generalist for clearing out low motivation gyms or filling in spots for raid teams. You don't need to dodge fast moves for that, and when using Dragon Tail you can still dodge long charge moves if you are watching for them.

I prefer quick moves and dodging. My wife has one and I love using it. I offered her a shopping spree at the mall for that dnite if trading ever comes out.

That sounds like an incredible idea, especially if they aren’t going to implement trading. I know I’d love to have a DB/DC Dragonite and Body Slam Snorlax.

I’ve asked a similar question before and the feedback I got was that a legacy move is not going to be brought back.

Correct answer to all these questions is “maybe yes, maybe no”.

Hopefully they will consider it eventually to maintain the player base. They will have to get creative at some point, but it doesn’t mean they will.

Yes, but now you can use Pinap berries, raids, weather-boosted wild catches, and double XP/stardust events to get instant armies, while the grizzled veterans among us had to walk, hatch, and grind like mad to get anything good.

So true. I got to level 33 without any kind of tracker. The in-game one just told you there was something out there. Somewhere. The 3-step tracker had been killed shortly after I started. We mostly had to really search for mons, or just blindly stumble into them.

It sounds crazy, but one of the things that kept the game engaging was saving candies for weeks or months, then rolling the dice with the evolution and *hoping* for a good move set... and plenty of times, getting crap and having to start all over again.

But yeah I like DB/DC. Got lucky.

Doubt so. But you can hope for DB/DC Salamence.

Man, I'd want to change my H/SB gengars to SC if this ever happened. I actually enjoy using my Banette more than the gengars even though it arguably does less damage. It's just more fun, plus I love the Gengar dodge animation.
