Which Machop and Magikarp to evolve?

First of all, thanks and congrats for this amazing website!

I slowly managed to reach level 27 and to collect enough candies to (fully) evolve Machop and Magikarp. I have a few options at disposal and would like your expert advice on which one to use:

Machop 78% - 773 CP (8/12/15)
Machop 84% - 595 CP (13/10/15)

Magikarp 84% - 188 CP (8/12/15)
Magikarp 93% - 121 CP (14/15/13)
and
Magikarp 170 CP (89% 12/15/10 - level 24) or (96% 14/15/14 - level 23)

I would tend to go for machop 84% even though CP is lower, right? I wonder how to know if the magikarp 170 CP is a level 23 or 24 which would make my choice easier. If not possible, which one you would pick up out of the three?

There might be another option of waiting for higher IV machop and magikarp but I must say I am running out of patience :-)

Thanks for your help!

Is your candy count for Machop 125 and Magikarp 400?

Now with the buddy system at least small candy generation is guaranteed so I'd say going for higher IV in general makes more sense than it did before.

What level are you? Theoretically if you are below 30 the best thing you can do is wait. But if you must do it now, in this case I'd probably recommend going with the highest IV ones, because the CP's are relatively close to each other and Gyarados is a Pokémon you probably don't end up having too many, you might later regret for going for the lower IV. Personally I'm sitting at 620 Magikarp Candy and still haven't evolved Gyarados because the best Magikarp I've found is 96%. If I reach 800 candies before I find a 100% one I will evolve that and keep looking for a better one with the rest of the candies.

Thanks Zureiyaa!

Yes, I have 125+ for Machop and getting closer to 400 for Magikarp candies. My trainer level is 27 so I understand I should rather wait. I will see if I resist. :-)

How about my question 2 reg. two possible IV scores? Any way to know the precise IV when the calculator show two possible results?

You can try to determine its level by the position of the the arc. If you have another level 23 or level 24 Pokémon, check the position of the arc and for example use a pencil's tip to see if your Magikarp's arc is the same as a level 23 Pokémon or level 24 Pokémon.

Clear, thanks a lot!

I also noticed that by powering up once or few times, the calculator will dissipate any doubt. I did so with the magikarp and it resulted that I have a 96% IV one!
