Articuno against Groudon?

Everybody is mentioning the obvious choices like Gyarados, Eggy, Vape and Dragonite.

But how would Articuno perform in comparison? Chances are 50:50 for me that ice attacks are boosted (or fairy/fighting/poison). Not a single clear/sunny hour here yet..

Articuno receives ×0,51 from Mudshot/Earthquake and nve from Solarbeam. Should I give him a shot?

(How does Lapras perform against Fireblast?)

Lapras takes esssentially neutral damage from Fire Blast. Articuno would be a good candidate for a counter against Solarbeam and Earthquake, but not Fire Blast.

For Fire Blast/Earthquake, Gyarados is MVP.

Articuno should be a viable counter, but if the stardust hasn't already been invested in him then there are probably better things to spend it on, primarily Gyarados.

Lapras is going to be a fairly lacklustre choice I think. All of Groudon's attacks are neutral against him at best, and Lapras's own attack stat is too low to make a decent impact, even with the weather benefiting his Ice attacks.

I do not intend to spend more dust on counters. The articuno is already at lvl30. My two 98% Gyarados too. (It might take them to the next breakpoint if one is nearby after a possible nerf.)

How about Sceptile? A local nest is Treecko atm and if the wheather changes, then a lvl30-35 wild encounter would not be that unlikely.

Lvl 35 Sceptile versus my 3 Eggy at lvl30. That would be a tough choice :D

In the Pokebattler sims I've done FC/LB Sceptile is between BS/SoB and C/SB Eggy with all of the three really close to each other (all mons at level 30). Sceptile seems to do better with FC as opposed to BS. With the former Sceptile trades Eggy's bulk for more DPS and with the latter he's practically a less bulky Eggy.

Also, VW/SoB Venusaur performs the same as double grass Eggy. But if Venusaur's fast attack is BMW instead...

My Exeggcutor can take a Solarbeam from the weather-boosted Groudon I just did today. Not sure if Sceptile can after a few quick moves too.

The Pokemon that will perform the best agains Groudon is Groudon with MS + SoB on a sunny/clear day. In fact a lvl 25 Groudon with 0 atck with that moveset with that weather condition will out dps any other mon. this will be the cheapest Meta Month ever!

Articuno is a beast against an Earthquake Groudon. My FB/B Articuno held his own. I had a large group as well, but he could land three Blizzards before going down.

I've never powered up even one Articuno, but both Groudon raids I've done so far still packed the default attacker list with every Articuno I have. If the weather was boosting ice attacks, I think Articuno would do pretty well, but otherwise I'd go for something with higher attack. It was raining here for one, cloudy for the other, so I just stuck with the obvious Gary, Vaporeon, and Exeggutors, which were enough to get me 2 personal damage bonus for the raid with 9 players.
