another where-to-invest-rare-candies question!

My rare candies have stocked up to 500+. What should I spend it on?

I've no Mewtwo but I've the following:
2x 100% Dragonite already max CP3581.
1x 100% Zapdos level 38. Still got 1x unpowered lvl20, 91%, 15att.
3x Blissey, lvl 38, 139 chansey candies left.
3x Tyranitar, lvl 36, 421 larvitar candies left.
1x Raikou lvl30 (15/12/12), 70 raikou candies left.
5x Machamp, so no candies required for this.
and 1323 magikarp candies, 231 snorlax candies, 351 Lapras candies.

I thought about transferring to Slakoth but after reading the comments ....
then I thought about Gardevoir but its stat is like Espeon. Will it be a glass canon??

If only there were bagon or other Gen 3 legenderies, then I wouldn't be facing this dilemma.

What about for Mudkip candies? Mudkip might be the rarest of the Gen 3 starters (considering I've only seen one, so far), maybe Swampert could be your next project. I hear Blaziken and Sceptile are also worth the investments, as well. You can also save them for when Bagon and Beldum begin appearing in the wild, too, and for when Gen 3 legendaries eventually are released.

Do you have any other legendaries that you haven't powered up yet (Moltres, Entei, Lugia, etc)? I pretty much use my rare candies on legendaries exclusively, since candies are very difficult for me to come by for them.

I haven't powered up an Entei yet, but I raided it in October so I got 119 Entei candy using no rare...with the weather change I decided to power up a 2nd Moltres--better IVs on my fire birds. Using some rare candy for that--direct some candy according to what you have and where you are

I don't know what I think of the starters pokemon. A lot of ppl are saying that there will be events in the future like Safari zone where you'll be able to catch a lot of starters pokemon.

and btw, I've got more mudkip here than the other 2. Only caught 2 treecko so far, and zero Torchic. (I live in Northern Europe)

Today I caught my first Ralts, 93%, 15att, lvl24 and I thought about evolving it and powering it up to lvl 35 as a gym defender, but the pokemon go community doesn't support the idea of powering up a gym defender.

I've powered up Moltres (14/14/14) and that's all. I hardly use it. :(
The Entei I have don't have 15 att, and Lugia I caught suck.

I think the Gen 3 starters are pretty good. They're certainly not the best of their respective types, but it seems like they can get the job done, as they have pretty good movesets that compliment them quite well.

Treecko and Torchic occasionally spawn around my area a couple of times a day, regardless of weather. Can't say the same for Mudkip, though. The one time I saw one wasn't even in rainy weather, oddly enough.

Honestly, I think you should evolve your Ralts and power it up. It'll be your best Fairy type, and with decently high attack and defense stat, it can pack a punch in gym battles. Gardevior appears to be one of the few Gen 3 Pokémon worth powering up as a gym attacker, as far as I'm concerned. Gardevior actually looks like a lot of fun to use, too!

And, damn, seems like you've had horrible luck with those legendaries. What about Ho-oh? Do you plan on powering him up at some point?

My experience with the legendaries:
Suicune, Entei, Moltres = good catch rate but no 15att.
Articuno, Raikou = good catch rate with 1x 15att.
Lugia, Ho-oh = really low catch rate, keep jumping out from my ball. No 15att. Don't even have a 2200CP Ho-oh. :(

Zapdos - caught a 100% on my 7th encounter. And got another 91% with 15att. So I'm satisfied with Zapdos.

I'm doing 2 ho-oh raids tomorrow, but I doubt it will be any good. So no, I won't be powering up Ho-oh.

That's unfortunate :(

I wish you luck on your Ho-oh raids tomorrow. Hopefully, one above 2200 CP shows up. If you catch them, and one of them has 15 ATK, I'd say definitely invest some candies on it and power it up!

Gardevoir is a good attacker on top of having defensive capabilities. It'll wreck Dragonites in gyms very fast while taking little damage in return and is amazing against Machamp raid boss if it has dual fighting moves. If I had a Ralts as good as yours, I'd probably already have thrown 150 rare candies at it to evolve and power up.

It depends entirely on biome and weather. I've caught 6 Mudkip, haven't seen one Torchic or Treecko.

so i herd you liek mudkipz

I have yet to see one, despite Magikarp being common trash in my biome.

I only use rare candy on legendaries except for these two mons because of the fact that i have seen more of each legendary. Each I have hatched only once.

Long term investment: Tangela/Togepi

Tangela - I've hatched twice, only 1 is a wonder.

Togepi - I've hatched a few times. Now I've 4x togepi, 1x togetic and 76 togepi candies.

Power up the second Zapdos, and hope you can catch a Ho-Oh before it ends. Also, it's likely that something will replace Ho-Oh, and you might want to spend some candy on that.

Don't use them on Dragonite or Tyranitar. That's not what rare candies are for. Someday you'll regret it.

Otherwise, though, this is a good problem to have, aside from the lack of legendaries in your mon storage.

I think the best use is maxing your Raikou. It's a very good investment in the long run and lets you burn quite a few rare candy. Would've been good to do it even earlier honestly, because at high level it becomes absolutely amazing in Ho-Oh raids.

but I've only got 2x reasonably ok Raikou.

15/12/12, 87%
and
13/15/15, 96%

I'd power it up to lvl35 if it was 15att and 90%+.
but with mine.......

The difference of your 15/12/12 Raikou is honestly very small compared to 15/13/13. Level 35 would not have been enough for it against Ho-Oh though, that's the breakpoint for 15d15hp. 13/13 would need to go level 37 or so.

It's going to be the best or second best (only threatened by Zapdos) electric pokemon until gen 5 legendaries come out, which will probably take 2 years or more. I'd wait and see if we get all the beasts back for a brief time with christmas vacations, but if not, you should max the best one you have.
