Hooh advise

IMO Ho-Oh's best use will be against fighting types since that's the only real synergy in it's moveset. Mine is ES/BB and I plan to keep it that way. Like a Lugia with more attack but less bulk and a worse charge move. (I think BB is worse than SA/FS anyway)

My thoughts are that his time isn't near the end yet.

im rockin SW/SoB at lvl 30 cuz my eggys and venuses suck (theyre either low level good moveset or bad iv w/unfavorable movesets which i rather not waste dust or tms on). my next highest iv ho will have ES/BB.

Interestingly, the decision might influenced by the predominant weather in your area. I have the same issue and am leaning toward Solar Beam or Fire Blast because those moves will be buffed by "clear" weather, and the local weather in Phoenix, Arizona tends toward "clear". So, for me, Fire Blast will get both STAB and, quite often, the weather buff, and Solar Beam (already very powerful) will get, quite often, the weather buff. Brave Bird is not as powerful as Solar Beam and will get only the STAB buff and, occasionally, the weather buff . Actually, I am going to power up, at least to level 30, one of each. I have a couple that I caught at level 25, so the power upping will be only a big, not huge, drain on stardust.

I personal think SW / SoB is the best use for gym battling. My %97IV lvl 38- Rising Phx(Ho-Oh) can take out a full power house gym but ofc the battle will be longer. I think this is perfect due to potion shortage. SW/SoB is good against most of the common defenders.
