You hit it on the nail m8. There is a dearth of quality high dps ice types and that might remain till we get weavile it 4th gen maybe? Even then he may be better off as a dark attacker lol. I struggle to remember one really really good ice type even from the main series until weavile and mamoswine so we hav 2 wait for the woolly mammoth to appear. Save all those piloswines haha

Ranking the ever-tricky ice types
Has any sort of consensus been reached for ice attackers most worthy of investing into? Any new ones in gen 3 worth it?
With the introduction of Salamence soon and Dragonite still being relevant, ice attackers definitely have a place in the meta (esp if a dragon raid boss is introduced) but it seems like Articuno is the only one easy to assess.
Tell me if I'm wrong, but this is what I can gather:
-Articuno is best by far
-Lapras as a tanky option (with Blizzard since it lost Ice Beam)
-Jynx as a glass cannon
-Cloyster as...something with high def for people who care about potion efficiency
-Walrein as somewhere in between Jynx and Lapras? If Silphroad's info is all accurate.
That just feels very lackluster as someone who doesn't have an articuno and who doesn't like investing in pokemon they don't particularly enjoy. They're all relatively difficult to obtain good versions of, and they're frankly...lame to me lol.

Cloyster is kind of an ok option between Jynx and Lapras. I guess coastal areas that aren't too cold may have Shellder easily available with Jynx being rarer. Cloyster does better DPS than Walrein due to much better moveset (Avalanche is literally Dynamic Punch).
Piloswine is pretty comparable to Cloyster. Similar DPS, similar bulk.
I'd just get whichever is easiest for you obtain high level from the wild. Investing stardust in any ice type is not worth it until gen 4 comes.
Glalie has abysmal stats, no potential.
Regice will deal less DPS than Cloyster or Piloswine but has twice as much bulk. Easy upgrade over Lapras/Walrein, probably preferable to Cloyster and Piloswine even with the slight DPS decrease. It'll be the best ice-type tank, but overall likely worse than Articuno by a fair bit.
