Extreme weather warning is BS

Yesterday was a nice cloudy day and the weather system worked. Today it is expected to have light to medium snow and I was looking forward to catch high level swinubs and jynx. It is not even below freezing now and I get the extreme weather warning and only trash spawns. If they don't fix it, this will be the standard here in new England for the next 4 month.

Similar news...Guess I'll work on my 15/15/13 Moltres (at 2200) to make it 3000+. It is clear right now...it is always clear. FS is 14+3 and OH is 160+32. I already have a 2787 14/15/14 FS/OH at level 30.

Agreed. We have had an extreme weather warning here in Southern California since yesterday. It has been about 70 degrees with a clear sunny blue sky and an occasional light breeze.

How do they even determine the local weather? Singapore does not have snow (except for one shopping mall in Jurong), but can switch from scorching sun to heavy thunderstorm and back in ten minutes.

I was thinking the same thing. I can see why the developers would want to include an "extreme weather" setting to keep players from venturing out to catch pokemon in a hurricane, tornado, or blizzard. The problem is, a blizzard isn't being predicted, just some snowfall.

Unfortunately, if this "extreme" thing is simply tied to the national weather service alerts, you can expect it to stay that way until at least 7 AM tomorrow.

EDIT: Reading the post from Southern California, it sounds like whenever the local branch of the weather service issues an alert, the game will declare your weather "extreme". So this might not just happen for snow or fires in the area going forward, but for flash flood warnings, etc.

There is always a weather advisory when snow is possible. It is a beautiful, partly sunny (but chilly) day here and PoGo thinks that it is "extreme". This excludes "Snowy" from ever being possible.

During my outing in "extreme" weather, I found the spawns to be okay. In 1 hour, I came across a Bulbasaur, Totodile, Charmander, and Clefairy. All of them are uncommon where I live. I would not expect to encounter all 4 in an hour.
