increase Pokémon storage?

Has started to kill the game for me a bit. Have gotten to point where only have 90+iv and or legacy mons and just transferring good ones. Doing this just to be able to play and catch a couple then delete and so on. Used to feel like a bit of a hoarder but have deleted over 50,000 Pokémon by this point. Besides the obvious any reason to keep some over others? Like ones you think might have more value down the road? Just find it odd that there will be over 300 total released by this point and they still have not increased storage beyond 1,000. Do you think it is a software issue with storage? Anyone think that will ever happen?

I am not sure why there is even a limit at all...especially with raids almost demanding that you have teams of 6 of many different mons.

In the beginning it was part of the game to make choices...but they have changed the game to something else now, but they have failed to give us the ability to do it effectively.

TL/DR It makes no sense that there is such a small limit, and they need to do something about it

I think they dont want to upgrade their servers.

Don't have the know how but kind of what I'm afraid of. They obviously know people will spend real money on storage and the fact that they have not at this point makes me think that is a permanent cap

I think part of the game is to spend time defending gyms, earning coins and buying storage extensions. I had to earn 400 coins for 100 unit storage increase, and with Gen 3 coming I will work towards buying 100 more. I wish I had spent all that money on something more fun, like extra incubators, but truly enjoy the freedom of storing whoever I feel like.

Honestly...what are you stockpiling that you have a storage problem? Even when catching 50000 mons your dust is limited to approximately invest and power up maybe around 100-120 pokemon. That's for the mons you really want and need...after that you probably keep the best IV ones of each species you get in case it becomes relevant one day...assuming you keep 6 of each species you are still far away from 1000 pokemon.
If you stockpile pidgeys of course in case there is a double xp event that would enable you to reach 30 mio expirience instead of 28 million if thats your goal thats a luxury problem in my opinion.

Novelty, collections, legacy, 0% IV, 100% IV, event rares, lvl1, CP666...all sorts of people have all sorts of personalised collections.

As it is a game that has a core element of collecting - I don't think it is that absurd that it attracts the type of players that like to keep assorted collections, based on their own personal criteria.

Then be picky (and I use that term lightly) because even the Gameboy/3DS games have storing limits. Try NOT collecting every little minutely differentiated Pokemon.

Except the pokemon bank exists that essentially removes the upper limit for pokemon storage in the main games.
And in addition to aSp's points, there are also shinies, and though I'm no longer one of those players that stockpiles trash mons for mass evolves, I follow the practice of keeping every crappy copy of rare mon's with desireable candy (I.E. dratini line, larvitar line, etc) until a double candy event so as to maximize my returns.
Bear in mind as well, there are currently nearly 900 pokemon in the main games, not much less than the current Go storage max. The storage will, with little doubt, increase for Go as further Gens are released.

Yea I hear you was more hoping for someone to have heard something I hadn’t about increase....have always done what you’ve suggested for awhile now...delete anthing less than a 96 on turd mons and 91 on good ones...only other ones I have are legacy or a small few sentimental ones...if was possible just don’t know why they wouldn’t just increase it already...and there will be over 300 mons by end of month

You have 7 Charizard! What for? Delete the weakest one you would not use in a fight where Charizard would be the supreme counter. In this case I keep Charmander and don't evolve, but that's more because I don't know pokemon after gen 2 and don't want to run into a situation with different evolving trees like poliwrath and politoed in the future

I have been complaining about this for months. We all play this game in our own ways. How dare you or anyone decide or chastise someone for how they should play. If someone wants to collect 1000 friggen magikarp, then they should be able to collect 1000 magikarp or whatever the hell else they want to collect. (at some point at this rate, we'll all have 1000 100 IV mons and then have to decide what the hell to throw away. Seriously, I have about 250 over 96)

I hear you. I have 19 shinies. Its only a matter of time before my box is nothing but shinies.

I don't see why you have this issue. I'm at 450 limit, and it's fine despite being a little tight. I'll expand to 650 or so when new Gen comes out. What the heck do you hoard so much of? You don't see some stuff, throw it away, prioritize.

Personally, I have no problem with that. I have about 150 I really use or see potential in it. A hand full of 100% and sometimes I also keep high IV ones which have no real use. All in all 250. The rest is for Pidgeys.
But I see your problem. A friend of mine has the whole dex male&female, than also the 100-150 he needs and he keeps the highest IV one. So he has about 250 left. Not sure what he‘s going to do when Gen3 comes.

But I‘m pretty sure that there will be an upgrade. Because the players want and Niantic wants the money
