Top 12 After Level 40 Bug Fix

Hey guys! It's nice to do these once in a while! What does your top 12 look like after Niantic fixed up the lvl 40 bug? Have you maxed out any Pokémon that were previously stuck at lvl 39? Saving stardust for a few of them?

Here's my top 12 currently. My original goal this event was to just focus on maxing out random Pokémon I had that I haven't put attention to for a while, but when the latest update rolled in, I immediately changed my goal to maxing out my top 12 to level 40 ASAP before double stardust comes to a close tomorrow, and I did! I also happily hatched a 98% Phanphy (I've been dying for a good Phanphy for sooo many months LOL), and invested the last few days of this event to maxing out my Donphan to lvl 40, who has made a temporary appearance to my top 12 (since Ho-oh will shave him off the screen once I find one with good enough IVs to power up lol)! So, I'm pretty content with how my top 12 looks right now. I thoroughly enjoyed this event! :)

Nope, my top 12 has not changed since November 8 (the day I caught my perfect Raikou and it entered the team)

It's mainly due to my goal to hit 1 million stardust and keeping it there. Therefore I will control my power ups bit by bit and get these to level 40 once I have the dust.

That said, I intend to take my 2 Ttar (96, 96), 4 Dragonites (100, 98, 98, 91), 1 Rhydon (91), 1 Raikou (100) and 1 Gyarados (100) to Level 40. Most of them are 38, but there are no excuses now.

Blissey (100) and Lugia (87) might make the cut after I am done with the above.

Awesome! I didn't know you had a perfect Raikou, it's gonna be a monster when it is maxed out! Nice to hear that you're managing your stardust consistently!

I have been doing the same, piling up dust. Powering up takes too much time so I rather do it after the event ends -- then it will be a day just for powering up. My goal is 4mil dust before events ends tomorrow, almost there. I love this event.

I leave most of mine at level 30, so only 6 of them are above 3000 CP, and I just hit level 38 a couple days ago, so only two are currently maxed out. I need 84 more candies to finish with those top two Tyranitars, but I've only gotten to do one Tyranitar raid in the last four weeks, and it ran away since I only got 9 throws. So hard to get Larvitar candy, I wish I could grind up that 2997 one for a worthwhile amount of candy.

Agreed, Larvitar candies are a rarity. You should use rare candies on the Tyranitar so you can power them up (if you have any)!

Depends on your biome.

On the other hand, Halloween double candy event was awesome for collecting larvitar candies. Pinap for 40 per raid.

It would've been if I could've gotten anyone to raid during that event. Just about every day, I saw a Tyranitar pop up then vanish, without ever getting enough people to fight it. It was only in the last 24 hours of the event that I finally managed to successfully raid two of them.

Love your diversity - it's refreshing to see.

I've only powered up my golem to lvl 40 as a ho oh counter. Will probably wait for gen 3 and after ho oh to power anything else up - don't want to use rare candy on anything that may come back.

I'm always glad for a new legend so I can clear up inventory space by dumping 40-50 rare candy into it. Even if I don't forsee wanting to power it up, like with Suicune, it still feels more worthwhile than using it on anything else (other than Dragonite or Tyranitar).

I agree. Definitely need someone to hold some of the rare candy. Plus, I plan to power up at least one of each of my legendaries to level 30, even Suicune. They may not all be great gym fighters, but they are legendary and at the end of the day all I have to show for playing this game is my trainer level and my collection.

Mine is about the same. My Donphan pushed my Golem out though. Maxed out a lot of others below my top 12 to level 39.

Thanks to the latest iOS update, I now have a top 15 instead of 12. I have maxed out 6 so far. My FB Mewtwo and SE Ttar are next as soon as I get the candies.

Hey Greg, the question was top 12, not 15 ?..Show off! Hahaha..no but in all seriousness that's a pretty sexy top 15 ?. Because of the double stardust and the ability to REALLY max out you're Mons after the update, im very proud of my top 12 ?

I have yet to power up any beyond L30. Top 12 in CP are Dragonite, Raikou, Rhydon, Gyarados, Vaporeon, Blissey, Snorlax, Golem, Exeggutor (two), Espeon and Machamp.

Also, I'm so jealous of your perfect Tyranitar lol. I've been trying to get a perfect one for ages, I'm not exactly satisfied with the one I currently have.

Ta almost religious attendance at TTar raids. I hate to see what my Carbon foot print is like for this game.

I've done a few Ttar raids during this month with Suicune, but haven't had luck in finding a perfect one. I might do them again once I find a Ho-oh with good enough IVs.

I think one more dragon has joined my Top 12 since the last time, but although I'm level 38 I have not maxed out any mon yet. After double dust ends I'll decide how to spend it. But the first mon I will max out will be Nessie, my first wild D'nite, caught 11/26/16... just because :D

You should also max out one of your shiny Gyarados, if you can. It's cool enough that you have one shiny Gyarados, having three of them is crazy cool lol

I powered up every level 39 Pokemon to 40. Gosh I hate that tyranitar I got at the bottom. I wanna delete it but at the same time it would be a waste of dust. I guess soon it's going to drop out of top 12 with 2nd raikou I need to power up a couple times sitting at almost 3100cp and hooh after I catch a good one. Even tho I haven't raided one yet. Haven't had time at all to play during double dust event :( only got to play for half a day at the most. And that was just spent at a triple stop lured just mass evolving everything.

Are you worried they are going to raise the level cap? Otherwise... why waste your time with evolution sprees? Level 38-40 are all the same in my eyes. Anyone with enough raid passes can be high level these days anyway. If I have time to look at people in the lobby of a raid, it is the number of pokemon caught and distance walked that are important numbers now.

40ed 3 so far:
100% Dragonite
100% Golem (not on first page)
98% Raikou

My top 12 has not changed since before the gym update/raids started...I am yet to find a valid reason to justify powering anything up that high.
Anything I have needed to power up since then didn't reach my top 12 before it became strong enough to do what I need it to do.

My top12 is already full of wasted valuable resources that are now allocated to the wrong things because Niantic moved the goal posts.

In a way, I do agree with you. New gym system is really easy, and not very rewarding.

It is all good still...I have more than enough to do everything I need.

It is just a shame that there is no real in game reason to do it - and with Niantic proving they are comfortable making any investment worthless in an instant, I personally feel discouraged from bothering to 'max' anything - so I just level up what I need, and only as far as they need to be.

I know exactly what you mean. I can only hope that, with the upcoming Gen 3 release, there are more features for us to engage in that'll give us a reason to power up Pokémon than catching brand new ones only.

My top 12 has changed only minutely due to the addition of two ttar due to raid catches (no ttar pre-raids) for basically the same reason. 5 vapes at 2982+. That’s a lot of dust invested in the old gym system that is almost useless at this point.

My only level 40 is my 100% confusion/psychic Exeggutor, which doesn't make it into my top 12. The top 12 consists of four Dragonites, four Tyranitars, two Gyaradoses, a Rhydon, and a Mewtwo, none of which are maxed..
