AAAARGGHHHHG #%{*{^}*}£{€{€|*

Well a Porygon(w/ Solar Beam) popped up next to work & I figured I could finally solo something. Run over there & my first try times out on my 5th attacker w/ about a cm of health left. I heal up & head back in & this time it stopped me & said I timed out while there were 3-4 seconds left on the timer AND NO VISIBLE HEALTH LEFT on the boss. It lets me get one more move off & I win

Wait. What was the question?

I've noticed that raids vary a bit in how much time you start with and how much time is left at time out. You can only count on 160 seconds. The lack of a yellow flash in raid battles also makes dodging very difficult.

I’ve pretty consistently started w/ 177 seconds & I think this is only the 1st or 2nd time it’s booted me early. It was just more frustrating this time b/c it’s the 1st time I’ve known I had it in the bag.

I haven’t had any problem dodging Porygon b/c it’s telegraphed so much. It’s been awhile since I tried any of the other t3s though b/c I’m building to solo Machamp & have only seen 1 in like the last 2 months

How about this! I was soloing a gengar the other day (which I've successfully done before). Got to my last mon, a 2800 tyranitar, with 20 seconds and only a tiny bit of health left on the gengar. Game glitches, tyranitar doesn't show up, gengar just pummels me and raid over. I heal my guys and try again. This time, I used mostly glass cannons so I've got to re-enter. 30 seconds left though so I think sure I've got this. Game crashes! Now I'm like, ok one more time. Heal my mon again, go to enter the raid and low and behold none of my mon got healed, yet all of my potions are gone. Beyond frustrating. Now I'm out of revives and can't even try again. I wasted 10 revives, 2 max revives, and 10 max heals on this whole thing and got nothing to show for it. I'm really kind of over the whole raid thing until they get the glitches worked out.

At least you had enough time left to try until you won. I saw a Cloyster the other day at a gym I haven't had a chance to raid at for a couple months, so I decided to give it a shot. It was only the second one I've ever seen, but the first didn't give me any trouble. I used 3 Machamps, a Raikou, and my Mewtwo, but didn't have anything great for a 6th attacker, so I had to use my Zapdos despite the ice weakness. I was dodging well enough that it was okay anyway, but then when I tried to use the 2nd or 3rd Zap Cannon, it did that glitch where it rolled back my energy gain and cancelled the attack, wasting a couple seconds. Then because of that, when I tried again, I got hit by Avalanche right in the middle of Zap Cannon, just in time to prevent the damage. After that, when the Zapdos fainted and my next attacker popped up (my only Machamp with Dynamic Punch), the damage from that Avalanche carried over somehow, so my Machamp was already almost dead by the time it even appeared. By the end of the fight, I ran out of time with just a sliver of health left on that Cloyster, less than how much that Zap Cannon would have done if it hadn't gotten glitched. And thanks to the 45-minute raid timer, I couldn't try again, so I just wasted my pass, and still haven't gotten a successful raid at that gym recently, for if a Mewtwo raid appears there.

Oh wow, that's unlucky! I haven't had anything that dramatic happen to me - at least yet. One thing that did happen this week: a Ho-Oh used Fire Blast back to back even though it's 1-bar move and IIRC raid bosses choose their next attack before the previous one so it couldn't have been even due to some huge damage spike. Though there were so many of us there that it practically didn't matter at all in the end.

Maybe that's where the term "bird brain" comes from... Ho-Oh's like: "Imma use Fire Blast after my next fast move! But what then? Oh I know, another Fire Blast!"
Raiders: "But it's 1-bar, you can't use it two times in a row!"
Ho-Oh: "Chirp chirp!"

Me and my old phone have managed Machamp with DP and CC (haven't tried HS yet), but Cloyster with Avalanche is my nemesis.... failed 3 times. I think I'll wait until I get my new phone ;)

I got close enough on my one Machamp attempt to give me hope & that was when I only had 4 good counters, was level 27-28, & none of the good counters were even maxed yet. Now that I’m lvl 30 w/ 5 good counters & 4 of them maxed I haven’t seen a single one.

The wife & I tried a Cloyster when I didn’t do any sort of prepping b/c “wth it’s a t2 it can’t be that hard, right” boy was I wrong, thing destroyed us.

I'm lvl 38 but just don't have real good counters for Cloyster. And I'm getting very low on potions and just don't want to spend the resources for a t2 payoff.

Why they made Scyther t3 and Cloyster t2 I'll never figure out....

B/c it will be too tough for level 3, I guess tougher than lvl 4-5 bosses with double weakness. It will be silly to have level 3 boss which is not duoable

.... no sillier than a tier 2 that can't be soloed by many reasonably experienced players IMO. T2 should not require a group effort by higher level players.

IMO it will. I can't imagine 3-4 people organized to meet for lvl 3 reward. While being level 2 it's still soloable and easily duoable, Way more people pay in group of 2 than in group of 3 or 4

You're right. I guess I'm just embarrassed that I can't solo a t2....
