But can we make it to 3 billion after that if the spawns increase?

So it is ok then to say things that others will deem as unnecessary provocation? Sebhes' comment meant no harm; why take it out of context and go on blabbering about history? Maybe Barrelrider13 was joking, but hey, it doesn't take an American (I'm not) to notice that his response had a strong mocking tone to it.
Freedom of speech and being respectful of others aren't mutually exclusive. We're all civilized people; brothers gathered here to discuss and share knowledge and opinions about something we like/love. This is too good a forum to have people bickering about nonsense with one another.
Barrelrider13 made a pretty funny joke. It WAS NOT disrespectful in any way. What he said was true. It's history. It's what happened. And all of a sudden the racism card gets drawn out of nowhere!!! Give me a break!!! Mods should ban accounts that bring up the racism card. It's bad enough it exists in real life, it has no place here!
"It WAS NOT disrespectful in any way." Well, that's your own subjective opinion. Other people may not share your sentiment. I knew that Barrelrider13 was wisecracking, and yet it is my firm belief that such a joke is truly uncalled for (sounded very much like he was mocking/roasting sb; didn't even insert LOL to indicate that he was kidding around). People like phhoff either won't comprehend or will misinterpret such a remark, further escalating tensions between forum members.
With regards to racism, yes, I agree with you that it is something that should not be made light of. Peach most definitely chose the wrong word to express his opinion. Then again, judging by his LUL usage, I believe he was also uncomfortable with Barrelrider13's joke. The fact is that a bad joke was made; focusing on the word "racism" not only diverts attention away from the real problem but also disrespects the uneasiness that many of us have felt.
The trend is not linear. The rate is growing with each update and has increased by more than 50% since day 1. With the increase expected when double stardust start tomorrow we will probably reach the goal on Saturday.

There will still be people from the US who will be playing. Holiday would mean that some US players won't go to work and if they do not go on vacation, they'll probably be spending it outdoors anyway, catching stuff, if they want.
Then there are the incenses, which anyone who's in a rural area could get if they have some gyms nearby to gather coins for them. So there might still be a chance to make it.
Thanksgiving and Black Friday aren't really conducive holidays to playing PoGo. I will be spending most of the day tomorrow with family, not playing PoGo. Many will be doing the same. And Black Friday can be nuts in any decent sized city. Traffic is terrible, hard to get anywhere. Not to mention some players will be shopping, not playing. Others may be doing other activities, like beginning to decorate homes for Christmas. I won't be playing much Friday either, as one of our local camping/hiking outfitters is planning a canoe/kayak trip. Holiday doesn't mean sitting around at home doing nothing.
Hence the key word "some". There will be some people who will, some who won't. What I'm saying is that some who already planned on taking advantage of the extra free time going outside to catch will do that anyway. Not all people are with their families, and (sadly) not all have families or are keeping in touch with them. Not all are going for the Black Friday shopping craze (although I don't know if BF became a trick over there like it did here, where they raise the prices and then lower them on BF but they were much lower before the rising and before BF and yet nobody noticed the prices because the stores said nothing - this is why I keep my eye on my favorite computer stores, so I can get myself good deals weeks ahead of the price increase and black fridays). So I wouldn't say the US won't be contributing at all. They'll still add a significant amount because of the aforementioned people who do this.
