A crazy chansey

Today, I battle a Chansey (close CP) with dazzling gleam, it drives me crazy! Chansey with dazzling gleam is not weak!

Well, I used my 2100CP Machamp to train my own Chansey with 1020CP. My Machamp was killed in the battle. My Chansey has Pound/hyperbeam moveset. I dodged the first hyperbeam but didn't dodge the rest because I was afraid of running out time.

Nearby, we have two gyms next to each other. We took both gym. Then another player (in different color) took down one gym. I could see that he is at level 22 after he put his dragnite in. The other gym had my Chansey. He spent almost an hour to attack the gym and eventually gave up. I guess without his dragnite, he just could not defeat my Chansey.

I used my Primeape, when it almostly got down to 0 HP, I switched it to Rhydon, I won, but the clock is just like about 15 seconds left. This is my first time to really encounter a Chansey. There was another time, when I was about to attack the gym, it had been taken over already.

I have also a Chansey with ZH - DGleam move with IV 87%, CP 782 and a whooping HP of 307. Can I use this in defending gym? Good to know that DGleam does a decent damage in defending gyms..

You "can" but the thing about a low CP toughie like Chansey is that it will almost always be the first to get knocked out of a gym. Even a noob with no dodging skills will swagger into a fight with Chansey and be able to take them down with the right attackers eventually.

No, most players who are level 20 or below have nothing to beat a Chansey with CP 1000 or above.

Balls. After the Halloween event made them practically universal, even a halfway decent non-ghost move Gengar can wreck him alone or at least take him down far enough to hand it over to a regular team of decently strong normals/fighters.

Try a Gengar (preferably with SP/SB) if the quick attack is Pound, Magneton (preferably with Flash Cannon) if it's ZH. DG is a pretty weak charge move and not too difficult to dodge. Any Chansey fight is going to seem tough because of time. Its counterattacks are weak and made weaker by exploiting type matchups, Be patient and get the dodge timing down.

But dang Blissey is going to be a nightmare...
