I'm a hoarder. I know what you mean. I'm maxed out to 1000 box. Got 973 mons in it. Pain in the ass to scroll through to find prestigers. Haha

a nice trick: name your pokemon with the following method: if over 1000cp start by just writing the CP (then the move set abbreviated)...if under 1000 use a decimal point. example. a 1199 venusaur with razor leaf solar beam name it "1199RL-Sbeam" if you have a 970 vaporeon with hydro pump name it "0.970hpump" i use this as work around to sort things low to high (which the game doesnt offer for some reason)- sort by A-Z instead of by CP and by naming it as i described it will display all your pokemon low to highCP (which makes sense given that the first thing you wrote was the actual CP...so lower CP will be shown first. this is very useful when prestiging as you dont need to scroll down over and over each time (i also like to include moveset bc when you have so many- esp multiple of the same its easy to forget which one has which moveset)

Great idea! It's such a chore to find my prestigers at a gym

thanks and i hear you. scrolling through hundreds of guys to find good prestigers is incredibly annoying- esp once the update required you to choose 6. another great thing about this trick. is that its very easy to get the max prestige. if you are prestiging vs say a 2600 vape as the first guy- now thats its sorted low to high- go to your section of 1200-1300 pokemon and pick accordingly..all right there neatly displayed. once you pick the couple you want (say you only want to prestige vs. the first pokemon at the gym quit then repeat...a typical method..then just fill the remaining 3 or so spots with random guys that you wont need to use. but they are now at the top of the screen to quickly add in- so everyone of your 6 stays under 1300). it takes a bit of time to rename them - you def dont need to rename all your guys just your prestigers you like to use and some low cp guys to fill spots. but its worth it believe me.. hope it helps -

i also dont understand why the game doesnt allow you to switch between high to low and low to high (but hey i guess we gotta work with what we have right)

Me, too. I hit the 1,000 mon limit and had to confront my hoarding ways...

Just the opposite, my capacity is 300 and usually keep around 250. Most are useless. I actually forgot the names of what Caterpies, Pidgeys and Weedles evolve into because I transfer them right away. What use is a Persian?

As a collector, I want to keep at least one Persian... but which? The 84% Scratch/Play Rough, the 91% Scratch/Night Slash, or the 84% Scratch/Power Gem?

I guess I'll just have to keep all 3 in saecula saeculorum ;)

I'm at 828/950. Need to dredge through and figure out what I can evolve that will end up usable training cp ranges. Also should probably cull my armies of Parasects, Arcanines, Electabuzz, and oh my Eevees.

Things should go much faster now with the mass transfer.

Maybe it's the laziness talking, but I'd wait and see if they'll run a winter event before transferring everything though.

Currently 999/1000, with 23 as transferable gym training fodder and 50ish more for fodder after a mass evolve that will begin within the hour. Long term goal is to stay between 850 and 950, depending on proximity to mass evolves and gym training sessions.

I don't know if I'd say that I dread cleaning it out - it's always good to minimize clutter. Definitely feeling unprepared for a Gen 2 wave though, if that's what's around the corner.

I have never increased the original size of my pokebox, but it is getting tight. I only keep one of each kind, plus strong mon with useful movesets, or ones I can maybe evolve into something useful. I've given up on doing lucky eggs, because I think dust is more important than xp after level 30, and am hovering around 215 in my box. Still it is kind of a constant chore to clean out my pokebox.

Upgraded my box once, and now when i come close to max i just pop a lucky egg to clean it out.

Currently level 38.25, and I usually keep my box at 250-350, I usually will do a exp egg power level once i hit around 350. I only save stuff over 91% iv. I transfer stuff right away after i catch them. Unless during exp event i will keep everything, then do multiple power up eggs. Each exp egg i can get around 70-80k exp. with event i did max of 175k exp once.

Why save the pokemon in ur box if they are under 91%? I dont get it.... its like collecting trash

I have no idea why you have to buy more pokemon slot. I'm at 250 but still can't fill up the empty slot.

lvl 29, no upgrades bought, still at 250 space and I use about 100-180 of it at best. no need to keep alle the trash.
when I catch something I appraise, transfer or evolve at the spot or I sort it out in the evening when I'm home. I only keep my att/def mons, ones I wanna evolve, some prestigers and a few where I can't decide what to do with or where I'm waiting for better IV/cp ones and 4-5 regionals in hope of future trade option.

--long answer, only read if interested--

  1. I live in Japan right now in a big city where I can get max 5 gyms, mostly only 1 or 2 for coins and I dont buy em so I keep em for events/incubators. it's hard to hold a gym for even an hour around here. fun fact: no spoofers, but A LOT of houswives on bikes with their kids teaming up on gyms.
  2. I mostly play on my way to and from uni as my pokedex is nearly complete for eu/asia and as you see from 1. there is no meaning to hunting rares as vapes ar all you need. this will change with gen 2 though as I'm prbly gonna be more active
  3. I don't need a desposable trash army because I havelots of stops to fill up on pots and evees are so common here that I just evolve some when I need em to take down any gym(over 1k candy at all times). water/fire/lightning covers pretty much all the current top defenders somehow, at least if you don't have to care about revives etc.. I seldom use othere pokes, maybe my beloved pinsir and eggs which are ridiculously common ere.
  4. no more need for lucky eggs as I'm nearing lvl 30. let's be honest, you get to lvl 30 so easily. going beyond that currently has no benefits what so ever...

sry for the long answer

I never intended on upgrading my pokeslots however I had made a huge mistake buying pokeslots instead of bag space a while ago so now I'm at 450 cap. So far it has yet to come in to use except when planning to pidgey party. At which point my bag comes close to 300/450 with out party planning I tend to sit around 200 though that will change as I fill out my collection. Which I'm intending on keeping 1 attacker & 1 defender of each max evolution with an A rated moveset & high IVs. As well as stuffing my pockets with as many of the top tiers as I possibly can.(i.e. Dragonite)

I find appraising quick and dirty. I look for my gyms key word which is amazes then look for wonder or excellent as I quickly tap through. I can get through about 30 Pokémon in about 15 minutes while half asleep so it shouldn't be quick for you if you have a threshold for keep worthy. Do a little at a time if necassary think of it as you're putting the old Pokémon in storage drive and the candies are bits of information you have unlimited space for and when you're powering up a Pokémon you're just combining that Pokémon datas with data from your storage one making the new one several Pokémon.

Yeah that sounds good. Idk I'm exhausted xD
