Alakazam Decisions
With the help of other players a scored a pair of really good Alakazam today in raids. Previously I didn't have a really good Alakazam.
14/14/14 with Confusion/Future Sight
15/15/15 with Psycho Cut/Focus Blast (I charge TMed it right away and got Shadow Ball)
If the moves were flipped around it would be a no brainer to max the perfect one and then power the other to whatever break point I need it for the raid I would use it for. I still want to max the perfect one but if I invest that dust into it should I keep TMing it until I get future sight? I have 8 charge TMs at the moment and try to be careful not to waste them. Or would it be better to keep them diverse for different uses even if the perfect one doesn't have the most ideal moves?

If I were you, I'd probably take my chances and attempt to get Futuresight on the perfect Alakazam, just to try to get it out of the way. If you're saving your CTMs for other purposes, and you don't want to risk it, try collecting a couple more. Even with Focus Blast, I'd say definitely max it out, anyway! Eventually, your Alakazam will get Futuresight with a few tries, and it'll already be strong enough to fight in raids and gym battles. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the advice guys! LOL, i'm so stingy with dust! I always want a healthy reserve in the event the meta changes and different counters are needed and when I decide to power something I do it as a slow long term project, never all at once. Using poke battler website these two already rank as my #2 and #7 vs. Machamp without powering or TMing so after I power them it should give me a chance to start thinking about being able to solo a Machamp raid!
I rarely ignore an Abra when I see one. They are one of my favorite Pokemon to catch because they don't dink around with breaking free and staying around, they are either caught, or if they break free the flee and are gone so you know the answer in just one ball most of the time. Pokedex says 521 seen 403 caught. I'm picky about what mons I power up so until there were raids I didn't get a Abra that was both high enough IV and high enough level to be a cost effective investment. That changed today! I will start using that candy.
