It looks to me like there is no standout move set for Kingdra. If you were to use and/or power up one, which move set is or would be your preference?

Mine has DB/O. I use it to sweep gyms. Its smoother than my d'nite, which has DT. I think its fun to use but still not worth an investment.

I agree that they are fun to use, but just keep an eye out for a lvl 30 high IV horsea. Don't bother powering one up from scratch. I like dodging with it its like a racecar. WG/O is my favorite but I like my DB/B also. DB/HP not bad either, I really like when I get to use them.

It makes a decent anchor against Water Pokemon, given the relative absence of tanky grass types or water types that can neutral other water types with STAB

With the old gym system, DB/B Kingdra was a lot of fun to use against Dragonites - hard-hitting, but fragile. It crushed the occasional SW/HB Dragonite. However, with the new gym system, it's usually not worth the time or the potions to swap in specialists for every defender, when a single powered up Dragonite or Lugia will pretty much roll over everything in a gym.

I have 2 100% Kingdra DB/B and DB/HP but the only one I powered up, 72% DB/O. Dragon moves pack a punch and make a good generalist. For some weird reason people always feed it berries in gyms.

Interesting, I have the same two 100% Kingdras. Both were caught wild as Horseas, one at level 30, and the other in the mid-20's. The DB/B was maxed before the gym rework, and used quite frequently, but the DB/HP sits at level 30 unused.

It's a waste get dragon moves for kingdra since it will take s.e. damage in back from dragons. Instead, i have a kingdra 98 with wg/hp quite usefull for raids when my golens, vaporeons and omastars are all dead

I prefer WG+O or DB+HP. Very strong when you face the fire and water type mons. Only dragon and fairy type can let it feel pain.

Dragon/Dragon. Why? Just cuz.

I got really, REALLY lucky and caught a Level 30 91% (Sta 15) Horsea, and powered it up to get a Dragon/Dragon Kingdra that I tend to use as a Gym Defender because no one else uses Kingdra so there isn't usually a conflict. I'm not going to power it up, but it's nice to have a CP 2033 Kingdra that makes it look like I'm actually trying to be serious about defending a gym with it.
