What to do?

I had three goals left.

First, get enough candy to max out my 100% and 98% Tyranitars (did that a couple weeks ago). Although I'll need more if I ever hit level 38.

Second, reach 10 million experience (did that a couple days ago) since I'll probably never hit level 40.

Third, finish my non-regional pokedex before gen 3 comes out. The only things I still need are Flaaffy and Ampharos, but it's incredibly hard to get candy for them, or to get any worth evolving. I finally hatched a Mareep a few days ago (got the egg the day after double candy ended), but it only had 10/10/11 IVs and gave me just 22 candies. The one I already had is 12/10/12, so not much better, and I'm very reluctant to spend over 70 rare candies to evolve it, even if it is my very last goal.

Did you complete all your medals?

For me, there's quite some things left:
- Get 4 more gyms on my campus to gold (two should be easy but the other two are highly contested)
- Get another 20 or so pokemon to level 30+ (multiple of the following: Raikou, Zapdos, Tyranitar, Exeggutor, Espeon, Entei, Moltres, and some randoms that are not that useful for the meta, but I'd like to have them at lvl 30 anyway) while keeping my stardust above 1 mil.
- Get to lvl 39 (1.5 mil xp to go, won't manage lvl 40 before December/January)
- Get candy number for some pokemon at 500+ (Dragonite, Machamp, Tyranitar, Rhydon, Golem, Blissey, and Snorlax) as I either don't need more of these at lvl 30+ and/or don't want to spend stardust on them right now.
- Farm more Golems (Geodude is pretty rare here), Tyranitars, Machamps, and Raikous from raids
- Get a damn EX raid pass

My last remaining goal is to become level 40 which I should be able to obtain by the end of October. Currently level 37.

Next to that, I'm considering to spend some money to go and capture Farfetch'd and Tauros, but I'm not sure if that's really worth my money.

I usually set small goals for me to reach, like reaching the next level, reaching a certain amount of km on the "Jogger" medal etc.

I don't have any real goals ahead of Gen3. I already have all Pokemons (apart from a few of the regionals), so the only thing I can possible aim for is getting shiny Sableye and Shuppet.

But other goals I have is:

1. Reach 5000km. I have about 450 to go.
2. Reach level 37. Need about 700k to do that.
3. Reach 3.5m dust. I spent about 400k recently and want to power up a few more, but might hold off until I save up another 400k so I'm at 3.5m.
4. Get gold in "Dragon Tamer". It's the only one I haven't got gold in and I need 132 to reach it.
5. Reach 20k caught Pokemon. Had set my goal at 15k, but might as well go for 20k.
6. Get a 100% IV Raikou. I have a perfect Entei and Suicune, so I'd like to have a complete set.

All that is left is to spend as much money as I can possibly spare doing as many raids for mons I don't need in order for the opportunity to have a possibility of getting an EX pass, so that I may have the chance at a kill, so I can get as many balls as possible so I may have a chance at catching Mewtwo.

Yeah...I won't be throwing cash at multiple layers of RNG hidden behind a pay wall, that I may never break through.

It's a good thing Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are coming out on Friday.

Complete living wonder dex including Unown.

My goals left:

1 million stardust and stay there

Mewtwo max

Kick Level 30 Ttars out of top 12 (3 of them)

Max out 1 of each legendary bird

All I have left in my non-regional, non-legendary dex is Unown. Legendaries and regionals are out of reach (to a rural, solo player). Looking for Unown won't hold my attention long, whether I find him or not.
The only thing left is to see which L3 raids I can solo; but that is as much about the phone that you use as skill. Again, that won't keep my attention long.

1. Catch a 100iv suicune
2. Get 9 gold badges
3. Collect 16 porygon with every type hidden power
4. Be able to take down a Tyranitar raid halfway solo

Do you have a raid group you like playing the game with? If you're fortunate enough to find a group of like minded players it's a good excuse to hang out and make new friends! The pokemon go part is sometimes just an afterthought.

Level 40 here, 2.5M dust, All the best mon (that are useful to the meta) I have a couple of them maxed out except for Raikou (have a 98% one but don't want to power him up until the end of the month).

I am not a hardcore raider but have not missed a single raid and bought some boxes, I am at 165 legendary raids and have 527 rare candies on my bag. I have done a lot of raids on sponsored shopping centers (Europe and I don't have sprint or starbucks gyms, just the malls), still no ex raid pass despite the fact that I see a lot of players having 4/5/6 Mewtwo already, it is very frustrating to see how level 25/30 players are getting Mewtwo without effort and the ones really dedicated to the game are left out.

So for me there is nothing left, at this point just waiting for UltraSun and UltraMoon to get released and I will leave pokemon go except for the daily tasks. Won't plan to come back until Mewtwo gets globally released or gen3 is fully out there (won't play if they do something similar to gen2 where they gave us stupid eggs so we have to spend money before the hole gen is out, ex raids have been more than enough cash grabber for me and for the biggest part of our town, no one is spending a single cent since at least a month ago)

A decent Red Gyarados (have a 80% shiny magikarp with attack 14, level 16), Scyther with flying moves powered up, Machamp with Dynamic Punch (I always seem to get Close Combat, or Heavy Slam CTM'd to Close Combat, and I don't have enough CTMs to keep trying until I hit DP.) T-Tar with Bite/Crunch (have B/SE powered up and B/FB not powered up). And while it's not directly related to gen3, I connected with a raid group late, so it would be nice to get more than 3 middling Suicune, 2 decent Entei, 1 bad IV Zapdos (and a partridge in a pear tree). Specifically Raikou, Lugia, another Zapdos, Articuno, another Lugia, and Moltres. So I have some work to do.

I agree. This game has stagnated for a while. Month long raids aren't exciting. Need change-ups more often. Let's get frigging person versus person battling going already, Jesus.
