the potion drought
17 gyms, 75 items:
9 x 20hp potions
2 x 100hp hyper potions
so 15% potions from gyms, and most of then 20hp... enough to heal from 1 battle
and of course nothing from regular stops
That's a way to make gyms harder to battle

All right people, I know what I'm doing. I'd be nice to not get 75% dismissive comments once in a while.
Yes I am running out of something and I am calling it a draught because it's due to a sudden change in game's rules.
I also used to toss tons of potions everyday like you until they changed drop rates a few days ago. Now I get ~1 potion for every 2 gyms, I'm using my stock of max potions and revives, which I never used to do before, and it won't last forever. I took 10 gyms today and usually I get enough potions to heal most mons, but not anymore.
I had the same sort of problem a few weeks ago - to the point where I started doing level 1-2 raids daily just to get Potions and Revives.
It's just the servers being glitchy. It's supposed to be randomized, but it has some REALLY weird clusterings like this - for a day or so I had a strange pattern from only Gold Medal gyms. 4 20h potions, 1 Red Pokeball, and 1-3 random items. After I noticed the pattern, the next 8 straight spins on 2 Gold Medal gyms, and every time it came up 4 Purple Potions, 1 Red ball, 1-3 other random items.
Personally, I blame Harry Potter.
it's been reported here http://comicbook.com/gaming/2017/11/07/pokemon-go-potions-revives/
that pokestops have almost stopped giving potions and only gyms do drop potions in significant number.
My original post was a comment on that with my experience that even gyms give a very small amount of potions, much less than before.
So maybe you have not seen it, maybe it's happening only here. Maybe it's a glitch that will go away, or maybe it's by design.
It's a very recent change, and of course like all of you I used to discard tons of potions. But right now, just spinning more pokestops is not a solution, and potions from gyms is enough only if not fighting much.
If this is not a glitch, it's a significant change in the game, at least for people playing gyms.
