How Do You Tell Your Gf Her Mewtwo Ran Away?

Description says it all. Her first Mewtwo raid she only got 6 balls and I had to complete it for her as she was at work.

It runs away.

I later get a text: "Where's my EX Pass?"
I reply: "I used it for the EX raid, dummy."
"Ohhhh! So...where's the Mewtwo?"

Just give her yours when trading available

Guess you can tell her the CP was low on it anyway and come home with a high IV beast instead

Just tell her. I only had six tries for you, did my best, but was not able to beat RNG.

How did she only get 6 balls? Didn't she do any damage?

It is possible. For example arrived late, had to join a different team of say 15 players, in this scenario, for a lower level account, it will get only 6 balls without gym control

We had been locked out of PTC, and got in at the very end in a 20-man Instinct-heavy group and Instinct gym.

You seem to be trying to evade responsibility: "she" only got six balls & "it" ran away, as opposed to "you" failed to catch it.

I say own up, take responsibility, and promise her it will never happen again.

Even if it was her doing it, if the RNG said none of the balls will catch it, it would still not be caught even with gold berry and excellent throws. At least he tried to do something for her. He cannot promise that no mon will ever run away again, all he can promise is that he'll never try to catch anything for her again.

I was mostly joking, but I do find it interesting that his wording doesn't acknowledge any responsibility on his part. I once failed to catch a perfect 100% Raikou for my daughter despite a long string of successive excellent and great curveballs, and when I told her about it, I said "I failed to catch it," rather than "you only got X number of balls and it ran away."

Honey, we dreamed of capturing the world's strongest Pokemon. And I succeeded.....you, on the other hand.....

It was a play on a quote from Pokemon: The First Movie. Also it was specifically reworded to acknowledge the fact that you did, in fact, catch the Mewtwo for yourself, even though you were unsuccessful for your girlfriend.

Why should she be upset? Without you, the pass would have gone to waste and she wouldn't have gotten Mewtwo anyway. At least you had a chance to attend an EX-raid and can tell her all about it (for what it's worth).

P.S. I guess the game knew you played with an alt account and Mewtwo therefore ran for the hills ;)

That is really the best/only answer. She was not going to be able to use the pass either way.

I think the important part of the scenario that has been left out: Did OP have an EX pass too? and did he catch the Mewtwo?

Yes, he got an EX pass and he caught it. Hopefully he at least bothered to tap hers, even if he didn't, say he got 7 balls and caught it on his 2nd to last ball. Maybe she doesn't know most catch it, no matter how many balls they get

Wishful thinking, but five of our friends went and everyone caught it.

I did 6 curveball/great/goldenrazz throws for her, same as I do for me.

RNG can have fun with us... I failed to catch a Wartortle (!) today with 14 balls but my lvl 22 daughter caught it with her 3rd one!

(Ashamed to add I'm lvl 38)

Tell her a new time limit has been imposed, and while you were catching yours, the time limit was exceeded and her Mewtwo ran away. Isn't it true that there is a new time limit to catching?

Lawyer here. Tell her that catching it for her would have been a violation of the terms of service and that you did not want to get her in trouble. You were looking our for her best interests.

Maybe, find a new girlfriend who already has a mewtwo.

Break up with her because she's too weak.
