3 man Entei Raid Success- And Rock Throw is the MVP

https://youtu.be/D-66G3apZHQ

After several trials, we have found out that using a full Golem team can guarantee you the best dps possible against Entei. Vaporeon doesn't come close because of its water gun being much inferior than Golem/Omastar's Rock Throw, even having Hydro Pump, can't compensate the overall lower dps than RT/SE, or even RT/RS.

From excluding the Vaporeon from our team (while one of us still left some because he doesn't have many Golems), the health bar reaches yellow for around 20-30 seconds earlier than the attempts with Vaporeon+Golem, that was a surprisingly impressive performance!

Side note: Anyone experienced graphical glitch after updating to version 0.81?

You have to be careful with this advice because Vaporeon vs Golem is a far bit more complicated.

Look at the Graph on countering Legendary Dogs page https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/sites/default/files/inline-images/image3.png

Vaperon is just over 16 DPS
Golem is almost 17. (and don't forget Dragonite) so yes Golem is about 7% more dps.

So if the TIMER is your issue: then replace Vaperons with Golems helps.

But Vaperon actually does more damage per vaperon than Golem does. So if your phone crashes when you try to rejoin or takes significant amount of time to rejoin, Vaperon will outperform Golem.

The other thing to take into account is Levels. If your players were 33+ before the Gym system switch there is a good chance that they have 35+ Vaperons vs only 30 Golems.

Another thing to consider when planning out a small squad if the Auto-selector HATES vaperon and LOVES Golem. So if you know you are going back in, start with your vaperons and let the autoselector pick Golem on rego.

Last Saturday I had a friends phone because he had to work on Fridays Mew2 raid and I didn't. I also have my kids devices and decided to try to "Solo" Entei with 5 Devices. Accts were 39 37 35 35 35. Went with 6 Vaperons in first phase and golems came out in second winning with 24 seconds.
Losing 8-9 pokemon in total.

As someone who participated the Entei Trio, I'm here to verify EpiCrimon's advice. In terms of DPS, no one does it faster than Rock Throw STAB users.

1. Dragonite, Rejoin with auto-selected Golems, I've tried them all yesterr. Team A: 3 maxed Dragonite, maxed SC/Shadow Ball Gengar, two maxed Vaporeon. Team B: Golems. Failed. [Link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4ketT7DHs89Q0hFa08yaFpNTjQ]

So I decided to go with Omastar + 3x Golems and revive them.

2. This was our second attempt. In the first attempt, EpiCrimson used some Vaporeons. The other two players, Simon and I, used the exact same team and tactics as the 2nd attempt, and we were like 10-20 seconds behind. After EpiCrimon switched back his Vaporeons, we nailed it.

3. Simulators may have some logic wrong and the Graph shouldn't be used to disprove the point we made.

4. Of course, we are assuming that everything is above the breakpoint - both Vaporeon and Golem.

Added:
5. The trainer who Solo'd Flareon used maxed Golems, not Vaporeons

I didn't say you guys were wrong :> But that doesn't make the charts wrong either.

I said Golem is about 7% more dps. So like I said timer is your issue than that 7% is critical.

A 310 project Second Loss becomes what a 292 second Win.

My caution isn't meant for you, it's meant for the more causal reader of this site who might be trying to 5 man Entei instead of 3. And they use their level 30 golems instead of say 36 Vaperons. Then they spend 8 seconds crashing and rejoining where they would have done more damage by not dying and rejoining.

Also dodging vs not dodging matters a TON.
Golem won't survive 2 Fireblasts/Overheats, Vaperon might.

Anyway grats on your accomplishment, just wanted to caution the more casual reader that if they aren't 3 manning an Entei, don't automatically pick Golem over Vaperon just because a 3-man crew did.

Golem is more DPS
Vaperon Is more total damage.

Pick which you need based on your goals. To solo a Flareon or Trio a Entei you might need more DPS

You made a point.
Actually you can use both Golems and Vaporeons....you know, Golems first and Vaporeon as anchor. 5-6 people can finish Entei in 200 seconds, which is exactly the duration of 4 Golem + 2 Vape Team (tested it myself. Need total 3-4 dodges). Golems still matter for medium size party since you want to earn more balls (and rewards).
And since the rejoin bug has been fixed... DPS becomes a little bit more important than TDO, I guess? Well that assumes no lag phones ofc. With lag phones (or bad internet) everything is a different story.

The rejoin not losing damage does change it too.

One other tidbit for more casual reader. If you know you are going to go back in anyway it changes your picks.

Like I expected to go back in when I 5-boxed Entei. So I did my vaperons first and let the autoselector pick my golems 2nd.

If I had went other way around, it wouldn't have picked Vaperon. It have picked Rhydons and Garys and Vaperon is better than Rhydon/Gary.
