Another fail attempt on soloing Vaporeon

My team:
1) Raikou TS/WC L31.5 15/12/13 A/D/S
2) Raikou TS/WC L28.5 15/14/10 A/D/S
3) Jolteon TS/T L37.5 14/15/12 A/D/S
4) Zapdos CB/ZC L28.5 14/13/15
5) Dragonite DT/DO L39 15/13/15
6) Eggy E/SoB L33.5 15/15/13
7) Lugia E/FS L30.5 15/14/15

I have shuffled above attackers a few times but was always short of time. Kindly help.

P.S. I can power up a Jolteon with TS/TB if that helps

Maybe fast-TM the Eggy to bullet seed, and put it earlier in the lineup. TS/T on the Jolteon is not a very high DPS moveset, so you may want to consider TM'ing one or both of those moves, if you have nothing better you can sub in. Or, at least put it after the Dragonite. I'd put the Zapdos first, as you are more likely to get an extra zap cannon in if it is in the first slot (or second, after the BS/SoB Eggy that you will have after fast-TM'ing it). The Lugia is not particularly useful against Vaporeon.

edit: Just saw your p.s. about the other Jolteon. That one would certainly be better than the TS/T one, assuming same level & IV's. Another SoB Eggy, especially with bullet seed, would also be helpful.

Tks for the prompt reply. Is it not a good idea to put the same mon (e.g. Raikou) in a row? I have an Eggy L25 Bullet seed/Solar Beam. Does it need any powering up?Also, should I include Tengela L37.5 Vine Whp/Solar Beam in the lineup?

I don't think the Tangela has enough firepower. The BS/SoB Eggy is worth powering up if it has decent IV's and you have plenty of candy/dust. That moveset is a little better against Vaporeon than ES/SoB.

Here's the team I used to successfully solo a water pulse Vaporeon (probably the easiest moveset):

Raikou L28 TS/TB 15/14/15
Exeggutor L30 BS/SoB 15/11/15
Exeggutor L30 BS/SoB 14/13/6
Zapdos L27 CB/TB 15/11/10
Exeggutor L34 ES/SoB 14/14/12
Dragonite L35 DT/O 15/15/15
(The dragonite was never used; the Eggy in the 5th slot launched its first SoB with about three seconds left, and the Vape fainted with zero seconds left. I think I was a little sloppy though, and felt I could have done it with a few more seconds to spare with a couple of well-timed dodges of water pulse).

The Vaporeon being countered was also with Water Pulse. Thought I have enough firing power and yet... Maybe my Eggy and Jolteon were too dragging.

I think you have the right stuff to win with this group. I would check pokebattler and sort by time to win!

I would start with Jolteon (charge TM if possible). I start with weaker mons because I often get an extra charge move off. You want him to faint right after a charge move. If he keeps dying at almost 3 thunders, you are losing dps. It would be better if he was weaker and let you get to the raikou. If that's happening, you have to TM him so you aren't wasting that time on fast moves.

Good luck! You'll get it soon!

Tks. That could be the problem as I always start with the strongest ones fearing the weak ones will faint too soon.

Don't know if it helps, but I tried my first Vaporeon yesterday and managed to beat it.
Fight started at 174 seconds, had 5 left, when i defeated it.

I've used those Pokemon in the shown order, my Venusaur did the last Strike, Vaporeon had Hydropump.
Your team looks quite strong to me, If you really want to know, how close you are, try Pokebattler out, it really helped me a lot not to waist Raid Passes when trying to Solo Raids

Tks. Honestly, I have pretty strong teams not only on Vaporeon, but also on Arcanin, Gengar etc. And yet, I have never succeeded in any T3 solo! Maybe my dodging technique is terrible and/or not using the charge moves correctly.

Maybe that's your mistake, I didnt dodge anything vs Vaporeon.
I only Dodge (a bit) if I'm using a lot glass cannons (like Alakazam, Espeon or Gengar)

Gengar/Focus Blast is the easiest T3 solo, because dodging FB is super easy. Machamp is the easiest overall because with the right team you don’t need dodging. Vaporeon and Arcanine, absolutely NO dodging! You will time out doing that. Alakazam I don’t even try yet.

I dodge almost every charge attack except aqua tails because they just keep coming and coming and coming and I've yet to time out. I only use 4 mons. I have beat each moveset multiple times.

Yes, but you’ve put an incredible amount of stardust and candy into those pokemons. It’s not realistic that most players will put together such a team.

Keep Raikou x 2, Zapdos and the Exeggutor. Raid Exeggutors until you find a Solar Beam with 15 attack. TM both Exeggutors to Bullet Seed and if lag is a problem take them to lvl 34,5 to reach next breakpoint. Put both Raikous first, then the Exeggutors and last the Zapdos. If you need a sixth bring in any of these three.

Below is my latest lineup, do you think it will do the job?

1) Raikou TS/WC L31.5 15/12/13 A/D/S
2) Raikou TS/WC L28.5 15/14/10 A/D/S
3) Eggy BS/SoB L34.5 15/15/13 A/D/S
4) Eggy BS/SoB L30 15/12/15 A/D/S
5) Zapdos CB/ZC L28.5 14/13/15
6) Jolteon TS/TB L30 11/12/14

I think you should be good. Don't dodge except in cases where an isolated dodge will let you fire off one more charge move. Dodging hurts DPS. Also, I'd put the Zapdos or one of the Eggs in the first slot, as that will increase your chance of launching one more big charge move.

i was able to solo a hydro pump vape earlier today with this team

raikou 14a/14d/15s level 39 ts/wc
zapdos 15a/13d/14s level 39 cb/zc
jolteon 15a/14d/14s level 34.5 ts/t
dragonite 15a/15d/12s level 39 dt/o
dragonite 12/a/14d/14s level 37.5 dt/o

i don't even remember who was in the 6th slot cuz it basically ended right after the first dragonite fainted. i barely beat it too and had lost the matchup before. if it was at or wp i prolly wuda lost.

If you could exchange Jolteon and Dragonites with Exeggutors it would be even easier. I have a team if five Exeggutors that can take down AT and WP but never managed HP.

Vaporeon Hydropump team for me two days ago. I needed it in this order. My Jolteon wasn't rated high but it got some glass cannon damage off against HP. On my team I think the Zapdos was an average contributor, I wouldn't necessarily take yours a few levels higher to be equal to mine.
2212 Thundershock/Discharge Jolteon
2900 Thundershock/Wild Charge Raikou
2851 Thundershock/Wild Charge Raikou
2907 Charge Beam/Thunder Bolt Zapdos
2554 Confusion/Solar Beam Exeggutor
2400 Bullet Seed/Seed Bomb
Started at 177, finished at 4.
They all got used, and needed the faster seed grass moves to finish it---also, didn't dodge

when i have seen team mates fail at vapes (with teams quiet similar to yours) it has not been their mons but their dodge strategy. Which is this don't dodge; unless your charge bar is near full and it means you can get an extra off. I've seen people time and again go from missing out by a second and having 10+ seconds clear.

Since most counters have close to or over 170 sec to beat the boss, there will be a huge random factor for most marginal teams.

i would prefer using eggy over dragonite, but i dont have any eggys maxed out much. my dragonites are all at high levels because i have more use for him.
