Your Catch:Spin Ratio

Once in a while it's fun to compare stats among players. This time I'm curious about your Catch to Pokestop spin ratio.

Include information whether you use a PoGo+ or not, because this can heavily affects outcome.

I'm living in a Pokestop rare area where I have to throw with care. Therefore my ratio is higher than average.

As of now, these are my catch and Pokestop spin total counts. So, about a 1.14 ratio, not too far off yours, but just slightly above average. A decent number of Pokémon spawn by my area, and a sufficient number of Pokestops are around to keep this ratio consistent. I also do not use PoGo+.

Those are incredible numbers. I didn't encounter someone with such high numbers before that didn't use a plus. Very nice.

Thanks! I catch literally every Pokémon that spawns, and spin every Pokestop I pass by, so that's probably why the numbers are pretty high.

How many cell phones have you killed via charging cycles?

It's pretty cool you have both numbers almost equal to each other. Normally, I'd think that the catch total will always be higher than the Pokestop spin total. But, it's interesting to see it the other way around.

I have a Go+ but only recently got it and I don't use it all the time. I think I use it to spin stops more, since they're guaranteed whereas catches are not, so I prefer doing it manually unless there's lots of spawns that manually catching them all is unfeasible, for example where there's lots of lures.

Way lower ratio than what I'm seeing from other people, but I live in a dense city with tons of stops. No PoGo Plus, either.

I'm proud to have the highest ratio so far! I live in a small town and before the gym rework, it was almost impossible to get a 10 spin streak in my town. Gold gyms have been a godsend (I have 6 on my daily commute). Also I have NEVER tossed a ball. I've always had something better to get rid of!

I've always felt that the ratio could say something about the area that you are living in. My observations show that usually a lower ratio means a more Pokestops dense area.

However, there is not such a thing as "good" ratio. I would be more than happy to switch places with city players.

A Go+ would have been pretty useless for me, since I already constantly run out of pokeballs before I finish catching everything. It was much worse before it became possible to spin gyms, but still happens.

Gyms have been a blessing for me as well. My guess is that you live in a suburb of rural area?

Yeah, I live in a rural stretch between two small towns, so the closest stops and gyms to me are at a church, then another church, then a cemetery, another church, and another cemetery. That's pretty much everything within about three miles, but there are more random pokemon spawns scattered around.

A few times when I've been sitting at home, I've had a lucky moment when the most extreme instances of GPS drift briefly allowed me to catch a pokemon down the street, but it's never drifted far enough to let me spin a pokestop from home, since the closest one is 1/4 mile away.

Don’t even have to do the math. I only recently purchased a go+ and it’s hardly worth using with the latest updates.

some of us only get 2 items per spin most of the time. that and how often you frequent gold gyms will affect the ratio.

I live in a rural location but work in a decently-sized college town and on the weekends I go to my mom's who lives in the suburbs of a metropolitan area.

If I get the time to play some while at work around campus and on the weekends I can fill my bag up, but if not then I am constantly running out of balls.
