not optimal moveset, how much worse is it?

I am new to the whole raid attacking thing.
so maybe some noob questions..
I got 2 tyranitars without the optimal moveset
iron tail- stone edge and
iron tail - fireblast
how much worse is this if I want to go attack raid bosses, also.
is my optimal dragonite moveset 2200cp better than my non optimal moveset dragonite steel wing-outrage 3100 cp?

Raids are all about the number of participants. If you happen to live in an area with only few players, it might actually matter to have an optimal move set.

Depends on the Riad Boss you are facing how much of a difference it makes. My guess is that the 3100 CP Dragonite will still performe better. If you get a fast TM, use it on him.

Yes, definitely fast TM the steel wing Dragonite when you can. Dragon Tail is a great quick attack, not optimal for dodging, but does a lot of damage and energy.

Bite is so much better to attack atm. IT is slow and has less damage

You can check Gampress's moveset rankings on each pokemon's page. (Use the search near the top of the page to find the pokemon you are looking for.)

PoGoMoves.com provides an approximate ranking of movesets, not taking into account any direct matchups with type advantages. There are a lot of numbers, but what you essentially want to look at is the moves and the second to last column which is a percentage ranking for all of that pokemon's movesets.

Tyranitar
https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/pokemon/248
http://www.pogomoves.com/check.php?lang=en&pkmn=Tyranitar&basic=Iron+Tail&charge=Stone+Edge

Bite is the preferred fast move. Iron Tail is slower and lacks STAB. (Same Type Attack Bonus. If a move's type matches one of its user's types, that move deals +20% extra damage.)

For charge move, you want either Stone Edge or Crunch. Iron Tail/Stone Edge is not ideal, but still definitely usable. Probably your first priority when you get a Fast TM.

Fire Blast still deals a lot of damage, but there aren't any good matchups where you'd want it as a fire attacker. Maybe against Snorlax if you don't have a Machamp with fighting moves powered up. Since your the other three you listed all have good charge moves, and any of Tyranitar's other charge moves would be an improvement, this would be the best candidate when you get a Charge TM.

Dragonite
https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/pokemon/149
http://www.pogomoves.com/check.php?lang=en&pkmn=Dragonite&basic=Steel+Wing&charge=Outrage

Outrage is Dragonite's strongest charge move. Steel Wing lacks STAB (so deals less damage) and generates less energy than Dragon Tail, but still has high DPS and has a shorter duration (so it will be easier to dodge when spamming Steel Wing, if you bother to dodge).

1) Pretty good - Stone Edge still gets STAB.
2) Eh. Bad all around.

For attacking raid bosses, you're probably okay. Ttar has a high attack skill and pretty quick attack rate so you'll still be doing a lot of damage. Fire Blast and Stone Edge are decent and can often make up for potential problems with Crunch (which is dependent on your phone and your network; I have lots of trouble with Crunch because I've got a mid-pack phone and a discount carrier, so it can be an effort to get a single Charged Move off. It's not uncommon for me to have to take the same time and effort to get Crunch off as it is to get Stone Edge off, so I regularly prefer to use a Single Bar charged move rather than a multibar charged move for that reason. That's an individualized problem, not a moveset problem.)

Re: Dragonite

CP3100 is better because of higher Attack rating. Check the Pokebattler and other resources for more specifics. (there's a GoogleDocs document that lets you know just how much damage you are doing with each, and the higher your attack and level combined the higher damage you do, even with sub-optimal move sets.) CP3100 is over Level 30, so it's going to be doing more damage than a CP2200 as long as the two have relatively similar Attack skills (ie: the CP3100 isn't an Attack 0 and the CP2200 isn't Attack 15. If CP3100 is Atk 10 and the CP2200 is Attack 15, the CP3100 will be doing more damage.)
