Have Dratini been drying up near you?

Used to me, a walk around the local canal would basically guarantee you a Dratini or two.

But, for my last two trips, I got butkus. So I checked the local free city-wide scanner - the incidence of dratini is just way down - they aren't around.

Is this happening everywhere? Part of the halloween event, to make room for more Shuppet?

Around here the number of Dratinis seems to be down in general. (I live between a canal, a river and a stream.) I used to catch a Dratini about every two days but now it feels more like every three to four days. This decrease happened months ago.

I haven't been playing for a few months, so the change could have happened months ago...

I have no idea, haven't played this month so have caught zero.

Yes I can confirmed dratini is gone.
I cycle at a park connecter which is beside a canal and it is a normal water biome spawning the usual slowpoke starmie magikarp marill
I can occasionally see a dratini but none since the Halloween event started.
Almost all the water biome spawn got replaced with the ghost.

But I hatched 2 dratini from a 10km and I got 60+ candy on one of them which is more than what I can usually farm in 2 weeks.

After the event started, someone noted that areas with heavy water spawns barely had any access to the Gen 3 pokemon. So they included the event in the water spawns. This reduces the opportunity for dratini to spawn.

Fun right, those guys with all those water spawns seem to have locked everyone else out from getting dratini candy. Obviously, they have tons, but double dratini candy is almost impossible now.

" for my last two trips, I got butkus" Wow, you got the Chicago Bears hall of fame linebacker from the late 1960s and early 1970s, Dick Butkus. Cool. Bet he's a dark/fighting type.

Or did you mean 'bubkis', which is Yiddish for 'nothing'?

FWIW, Dratinis pop up in my neck of the woods about once every two months. So consider yourself lucky to have a source for them.

Yup. Just Corsola. We were lucky enough to have a 98% Dragonair pop up right on the main strip though, so ill take that with a smile and wait for the event to close before farming Dratini again. Its not uncommon to see a few every day. I haven't seen one since the event started.
