I want to max a 10/11/12 mewtwo. Advise not to?

Because with neither psyco cut or confusion he will not loose any dmg vs. mewtwo or raikou (who follows in Europe).

Other opinions?

P.S. Initially I was bumped for the small iv (73%) and lowest attack stat but after playing with this breakpoint tool I decided to go all the way, not only too lvl 30.

Always the question, will you see a new mewtwo?

It is perfectly usable, but you may regret it later on, just a bit, should you see another mewtwo which pretty much is guaranteed to be better.

This was 2nd ex raid in my city, first one with me invited. Next in line should be the area here I play a bit more, so I have reasonable chance to get another invite in next wave.

But why should I regret?
0. A perfect one does not seams to be stronger in relevant raids (the extra HP can be solved with a simple dodge on a quick move, I intend to change to psyco cut after Suicune leaves or even sooner)
1. Dust: I have the dust for the 4th one :) (Provided I will max only one more Rhydon for Raikou, a 100% one not 2 more and a Dragonite as I planned :), but screw them :) ).
2. Candies: After maxing a Raikou in about 6 weeks I will keep the rare candies for the 2nd Mewtwo :). I will have at the end of november probably all the rare candies provided by Raikou raids since if I catch 20 Raikous I will have enough (with the current remaining candies after maxing Mewtwo) rare candies to max the better Raikou.

So again, what I could regret? :). What do I miss in my reasoning?

P.S. I will let him at 38.5 probably so if will be a major pain in the ass that he does not cross 3800 cp (he does not at level 39) I will try the double phone trick just to make it pass the damn 3800 cp.

Maxing out a 71% fresh raid Pokémon is just not worth it in my opinion.

Thank you for the breakpoint link. Can I also find it somewhere on this website self?

I'm not sure I get your question. But on the link I've put you can change both the attacker and the defender, plus the attacker moves.

Very useful indeed. I was just wondering if there was such a tool on this gamepress website as well.

There is not.

aSp is asking for one since the first days when this breakpoint notion emerged.

Regarding that, where is Bruno Berzel, on my recollection he was the first one mentioning them here. I was wandering if he is the originator of this discovery back in march/april I think.

You might get a better one in the future, so save your candies.

that is exactly my question, what difference?

What makes a 15 attack (even a 100 iv) one better than this one?

I find the difference compared to a 15 attack one so minimal (i.e in Raikou's case is only +1 dmg at Shadow Ball) that I think is better to enjoy the one that I have, at max potential.

Sorry dude, it sounds like you're in denial against the facts. If you had a 100iv Mewtwo (Which you almost seemingly view as inferior somehow), you wouldn't be making this post.
Sorry about your luck, but you got a crap Mewtwo. My first one was too. Got a 96 after that.
P.S Whatever your 73% Mewtwo can do (ie Dodge...) So too can a 100% one, or any other higher one.

I'd go to level 30 (66 candies/75k dust) if you have over 100 rare candies (and get them quickly) but then hold out for a better one. I have a 89% IV one and its not really all that useful. (Use Ttar and Dragonite more)

Get it to lv30 and focus blast as a generalist. Next one could be psycho cut/shadow ball.

If you get another (better or not) Mewtwo, then you have the option of specializing them.

  • Confusion/Shadow Ball makes a great generalist
  • Psycho Cut/Shadow Ball makes a viable Psychic
    counter
  • Confusion/Focus Blast makes a great Normal/Rock/Ice counter (add in resistance to Psychic attacks and neutral typing to Fairy attacks)
  • Psycho Cut/Focus Blast are for those sillies that Mewtwo is a viable Tyranitar Counter

I took my 76% to lvl 30 66 candis and some stardust not to shabby. He isn't good at all so its not a huge rush to have one. I'm going to wait till the I.V. increase items get implemented untill i max it out if its all i have till then.

The reason I did my analysis on breakpoints was due to the fact that I level him up to 30 and felt that I will have non benefit from that (I have better mons on every scenario I could though). And the conclusion I've reached made me quite happy :), an 100 IV one will not be quicker than mine vs. upcoming Europe raid boss (Raikou) and EX raid boss (mewtwo himself).

76%, 11-10-13 (A-D-S). Surely I'll get a better one when i'll get my 2nd Ex Raid Pass. But the question is, will i ever get another one?! And if i will, will it still be a Mewtwo Ex Raid?? This is a game, this is my opinion, this is my Mewtwo. The 10 Atk you have won't get 3800 for sure. But do you really care?? He will be your Top Cp Mon for a very long time. And if you have enough dust and assume a 150 rare candy gain per month I think you'll never regret a lv 38,5 Mewtwo. Enjoy your Mewtwo, many Trainers still haven't one and i'm sure they would power-up yours. You choose, happy pre-gen 3 event everyone.

Very lucky on that Shadow Ball. Mine has Focus Blast and I have used 16 Charged TMs trying to get Shadow Ball with no luck.

Sorry for that. Good that you at least ended up with focus blast (is psychic better than HB becouse of his small cast time? Luckly I did not had to study that aspect).
Yep. It was hyper beam initially but wprked as hoped on 1sr one.
I had 5 ctms, I was willng to spent 3 for shadow ball or settled for focus blast on 4th or 5th.

Don’t do it one time, after 4-5 tries, wait to a different day and time!
