TMs another reason not to spend on PoGo
Saved up 3 charged TMs doing raids over the past month. Caught level 30 near perfect eevee, used name trick for Espeon, got C/PB, used all 3 TMs to flip flop between PB and P. So glad haven't wasted money on raid passes just to waste the rewards.

Only anecdotal evidence. But I do it for the sake of my blood pressure. I wanted one Ttar with SE since every raid catch or previous TM use gave me C. So when I got 2 charge TMs above my floor that I’m saving for gen 3 and/or Mewtwo, I gave it a go. Day 1, C > FB > C. I cut my losses and stopped. When I then got 2 more TMs and worked up the fortitude, I tried again later and got C > FB > SE.
I have a different problem with TM s. They are starting to take a lot of bag space, after I TM d everything that seems worthwhile to TM.
Charge TMs are tricky to use, ideally there is one bad move and a couple ok ones. If you want to insist on a specific move, be prepared to spend 5 or 6, or maybe more, but 6 is my horror story.
The name trick is not the only way to get espeon.
Walk eevee as your buddy for 10 km, while that eevee is still your buddy evolve it during the day (when the game is using daytime display) for espeon.
By evolving it at night, with all of the other criteria, you get umbreon.
While high IV eevees are not the easiest to come by, they are much easier than TMs for many of us.
